TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Iranian Army commander announced on Sunday that a number of sophisticated unmanned choppers newly designed and produced by the country's experts started operation for the Iranian military.
Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Force Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said in an interview with FNA that the unmanned choppers have already been tasked with scouting and combat missions.
"Production of unmanned choppers for scouting missions, which can also be armed for combat missions, was carried out in the Army Ground Force and the choppers are used in different sections," Pourdastan mentioned.
"The choppers have already been tested and evaluated in different wargames," the commander continued.
The commander also noted that utilization of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) has now entered the literature of and become a routine for the Iranian Armed Forces.
