WOODSIDE, Calif.—Authorities say a man who claimed his wife committed suicide is under arrest on suspicion of her murder.
The San Mateo County Sheriff's Department says 64-year-old Pooroushasb "Peter" Parineh was arrested Thursday at his mansion in the wealthy Silicon Valley suburb of Woodside.
Lt. Ray Lunny says the victim, 56-year-old Parima Parineh, was shot multiple times on April 13, and that other evidence at the scene led to the spouse's arrest. Parima, born in Iran, was an artist who specialized in painting portraits.
The suspect is a real estate broker, though Lunny did not say if investigators have a motive for the alleged murder.
The district attorney's office is reviewing evidence, and no charges have yet been filed.
