This post is part of a series prepared by Kenny Laurie for Star Scene.
It will be updated daily in 10 days time, Kenny will name the best World Cup moment ever.

Described as ‘the mother of all games’ by the US Soccer Federation president, Iran’s match up with deadly foes the US was always likely to have fireworks.

Tensions were high before the game over the trivial matter of shaking hands. Team A was the USA and Team B was Iran, meaning according to FIFA rules the Iranian team were due to walk towards the Americans before shaking hands. That was until Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei gave express orders that under no circumstances were the Iranians to walk towards their American counterparts. The matter was eventually settled but the issue gave an acute microcosm of the tensions between the two nations.

Off the pitch a terrorist organization had bought 7,000 tickets with the ambition of staging a mass protest during the game. Protesters managed to successfully piece together a huge banner with Velcro but under strict instructions TV cameramen avoided airing the offending article.

The game itself was surprisingly sportsman like with players exchanging huge floral gifts before kick off.
