A top Iranian military officer says Washington is ratcheting up its
war of nerves against Iran to pressurize the authorities running the
nation's peaceful nuclear program.

"US Congress Bill 1553 which gives the hated Zionist regime a free
hand to confront Iran is part of a psychological warfare scenario
devised at the request of an American think tank to affect Iranian
nuclear insiders" Deputy Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the
Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri said on Saturday.

He said the US and other sworn enemies of Iran are cherishing the
hope that UN Security Council Resolution 1929 will finally sap Tehran's
will against sanctions.

"To that end, they have engineered a full-fledged scenario based on
propaganda and psychological warfare coupled with military plans", the
top general further said.

He underlined the need to keep a close watch on enemy schemes and take care not to fall for 'strategic deception.'

"The US and Israel's days are numbered" said the senior officer,
adding the Zionist regime of Israel has never been so vulnerable.

Elsewhere in his remarks, General Jazayeri warned other nations against US and Israeli mischievous acts in the high seas.
