EGYPT: DEMONSTRATORS ATTACK EGYPTIAN MUSEUM IN CAIRO

(ANSAmed) - CAIRO, JANUARY 29 - A group of demonstrators attacked this morning the Egyptian Museum in Cairo trying to steal archaeological finds. Police managed to arrest 40 people and, according to State-tv, two mummies were destroyed. Zahi Hawass, chairman of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, said that citizens tried to prevent the looters and were joined by the tourism police. The army is now guarding the area.
