TEHRAN, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Iranian opposition leaders planned a protest Monday in solidarity with the Egyptian and Tunisian revolts despite regime warnings and a heavy police presence.
The rally is planned to coincide with the 25th day of Bahman, the 11th month of the Persian calendar.
A spokesman for reformist politicians and former presidential candidates Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi accused President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei of hypocrisy for supporting the Egyptian and Tunisian protests but refusing to allow peaceful demonstrations at home.
