Iran is moving full speed ahead with its nuclear program while the rest of the world is preoccupied with events unfolding in North Africa and other Muslim nations, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday.
Netanyahu, who spoke to European Union ambassadors Monday, said Israel will act to protect its citizens against growing threats. Reports out of the region display Israel's increased concern with Iran and the recent attacks from Hamas in the region.
Also on Monday Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said the ceasefire in Gaza strip should not be determined by Hamas.
“Hamas is fighting a war of attrition against us,” Lieberman told Israel Radio.
He said Hamas is not a position to decide "when there’s quiet and when the area heats up.”
