TEHRAN (AFP) – Iran successfully launched its Rassad-1 satellite into space on Wednesday, the country's Arabic-language television channel Al-Alam said.

"It was launched by the Safir rocket and put into orbit 260 kilometres (163 miles) above the Earth," the television said. "It is capable of photographing the Earth."

The report said Rassad-1 (Observation-1) can revolve 15 times around the Earth every 24 hours, and that it has a two-month life cycle.

Iran, which has outlined an ambitious space programme in the face of Western concerns, put a satellite into orbit in 2009 and sent small animals into space in 2010.

Western powers fear that Tehran could develop a missile capability under cover of its space programme which could be used to deliver nuclear warheads.

Iran denies it has any ambition to develop an atomic bomb and insists both its space and nuclear programmes are entirely peaceful.

Originally scheduled to launch in August 2010, Rassad was constructed by Malek Ashtar University in Tehran, which is linked to Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards.

In February, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad unveiled four new prototypes of home-built satellites Iran hopes to launch before March 2012.

Iran in February unveiled what it said were prototypes of four new home-built satellites -- Rassad, Fajr (Dawn), Zafar (Victory) and Amir Kabir-1 and also the engines of a Safir-B1 (Ambassador-B1) rock... >>>

dilusional pride, sweet! I can only extrapolate you must be very happy with extend of that greed per what I wrote.

As for the oil price, any numb skull could claim what you claim but hot air doesn't cost anything after all, otherwise the greedy Zionists would have sold that too next to their mothers.

By the way, I know my family is looking for someone to do some labor work as a 'Hammal". Being the Zionist you are, this is a good opportunity to to some Hammaly and make money from some oil rich Iranians. But I believe my family is not interested in any of your relatives so hold them back in Tel Aviv, OK!

Ha, ha! What a pathetic comeback!!!

by IranMilitaryForum.net on

You know, you could have saved yourself a lot of grace if you had just kept silent when you found yourself totally dumb founded instead of responding for the sake of responding!

In Iran, people believe that the Zio-Terrorists are all about money. That is they will sell anyone and anything for money, even their mothers.

So, if Iran can buy Bell-212 helicopters and other items and possibly use them against the Zio-Terrorists or the axis they represent, one can only blame the stupidity of Zio-Terrorists for their greed!

As for IRI engaging in such transactions, it is nothing but simply a brilliant strategy, period!

You can drool all over your sattelite. I was actually complimenting the Iranin scientist and engineers. Unfirtunatly, nothing discounts from thr backwardness of Iran when a small country like Pakistan are light years ahead. As a Zionist I am so upset about this devrlopment that I have agreed to sell you my second hand tankers and weapons. In return you sell me your oil at dirt cheap prices which we in Israel use up and keep our tanks and bulldozers nicely greased to kill Palestinians and destroy their homes. My Zionist associate Marc Rich sends his regards.

None of the credit goes to the IR. Also this is twenty years too late. The Islamic Republic caused the largest brain drain in Iran's modern history. Pakistan went nuclear 15 years ago and it has no oil, with a crap GDP and mass poverty. Congtatulations to the Iranian scienyidt.bit nothing can disguise how backwards Iran's development is.
