'Israel fearful of Hezbollah rockets'

A senior Iranian commander says Israel has constant nightmares about Hezbollah's rockets following the defeat of Tel Aviv's attack on Lebanon in 2006.

Deputy Head of Iran's Armed Forces Joint Chiefs of Staff Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri made the comment on the fifth anniversary of the Israeli attack on southern Lebanon in July 2006, IRNA reported.

He said that Hezbollah's move to strengthen its intelligence capabilities and overcome its possible weaknesses after the 33-day war has redoubled Israel's concerns in a way that the Zionist regime is having constant nightmares about Hezbollah's rockets that might land in occupied lands in the future.

Jazayeri added that following the 2006 war, Israel admitted that Hezbollah had intelligence superiority over Israel, a fact that rattles Israeli officials.

He said that the Zionist regime made the maximum use of its military resources during the war with Hezbollah in a bid to strengthen its position in the region and contribute to a joint plan with the US to establish a new Middle East, but it failed.

The senior commander added that the 33-day war devastated Israel's delusions of grandeur and proved that the regime was not unbeatable although it enjoyed US' all-out support.

Jazayeri said that the power of faith as well as Hezbollah's intelligence superiority over Israel were among two major reasons behind Hezbollah's victory over Israel.
