Alireza Mollasoltani was hanged today, Wednesday, after the appellate court confirmed his death sentence for the murder of Ruhollah Dadashi. ISNA reports that Mollasoltani was hanged in public in the Golshahr area of Karaj. He was convicted of stabbing Dadashi last July in an altercation led to his death. Dadashi was known as "Iran's Strongest Man."

Reports indicate that before the hanging, Mollasoltani shouted to the public calling for mercy.

Some human rights groups have reported that Mollasoltani was still a minor. The Khabar online website had reported in July that Ruhollah Dadashi's murderer was under 18 and would not be hanged for the time being.

Picture of public execution of minor held today

Regardless of whether you believe the 17 year old boy in question should have been executed for a murder he committed when he was younger, you have to be absolutely sick in the head to approve of taking his life in such a cruel fashion in plain view of the public. Amongst this crown you can see young men gloating and cheering his execution - some even taking pictures with their camera-  which reminds you of what a brutalised and degenerate society we have become. To cheer a young man's death regardless of his crime is truly a new low for the Iranian nation.

Iran needs to be corrected, reducated and started all over again. Death to the Islamic Republic.

As evident from the young man's picture he is wearing what appears to be a diaper or pant underneath his trousers to contain his excrement when he hangs.

No dignity even in death

I'm against the death penalty. It really serves no purpose but primal revenge. Aside from that, I am always amazed at the mentality of those spectators who actually attend this cruel display of human savagery. How can you watch a human being, or any living thing, put to a slow and painful death like this?!!
