An Israeli attack on Iran would raise the possibility of a wider
conflict in the Middle East, at a time when the Jewish state has become
more isolated due to changes wrought by the Arab Spring.

Getting tired of stories about Israeli power!

by Abarmard on

This joke about Israel attacking Iran is getting old. How can Israel possibly attack a country like Iran? That's just not possible.
I think Israel requires gaining credit for things much bigger than its capabilities, such as accidental explosion in Tehran. They want to show how big and powerful they are. Israel will not survive a real war, otherwise they wouldn't be talking about it and instead bringing on some real actions.

Reality you can bank is: if Israel does attack Iran, more than half of its population will migrate out of Israel. Once Iran retaliates, in any time or way possible, third of the remaining population will leave Israel. Doubt most of them returning. Plus, human import will stop and the population growth will halt for decades to come. Most of the regions/settlements will become vacant. Now that's an existential threat, bombing Iran. That's real argument here, not Israel bombing Iran.

Haartez and other Israeli papers work hard to give this image to their general public that they are powerful and capable to do the impossible. This gives a sense of relief and provides positive reactions for many Israelis. But the truth is another story. They need to print these kinds of stories to show that they still hold the cards and instead of Iran being a threat, they are the power to put Iran down at will. It’s childish and not worth too much attention.
