Is Iran surrounding the United States with troops in Mexico and Canada? Are Iranian naval vessels patrolling the coastlines along the eastern and western United States and in the Gulf of Mexico? Is Iran imposing sanctions on the United States, covertly assassinating American scientists, and covertly engaging in cyber attacks on American computer facilities? Is it Iran that is flying spy planes over the United States? Is it Iran that has invaded and occupied two countries in the last 10 years? Is it Iran that has embarked on an international program of kidnapping, torture, assassination, secret international prisons, torture partnerships with brutal dictatorships, and extra-judicial execution?

No, it’s the other way around.

Don’t get me wrong. The Iranian people are suffering under a cruel dictatorship. No doubt about that. But the dictatorship is no more cruel than it was under the Shah, whom Britain and the United States installed into power, after violently ending Iran’s attempt at democracy.

Just the other day I read some ignoramus's remarks in reddit/r/worldnews that he killed "100,000" people.  Practically had to be executing 3000/yr :)  Morons, that is what these people are.

What an absolute load of rubbish! The total number of people executed during the 38 years of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi's reign was in the several hundreds. That number executed by Khomeini's regime in the very first year (1979) that it came to power exceeded that. The number executed the next year, 1980, was even higher. The numbers executed in 1981-1982 are without precedent in recent Iranian history. Again, in 1988 there was a massacre of thousands of prisoners. What a shameless lie that the author tries to pass as fact!

Russia took away half of Iran's territory, bombed the parliament and even mosques. Today Iranians are licking their khaayeh. Literally.

War is not the cause of hatred. Ignorance and mental lack of development is. Otherwise the Japanese would be shouting Marg bar america today, instead of being a top US ally.
