Imagining a “Clean Break” with Israel…Over Iran
Counterpunch / GARY LEUPP

The real reason Washington wants regime change in Iran is that, in the most mass-based, genuine revolutionary upheaval in the modern history of the Muslim world, the Iranian people overthrew the brutal U.S.-imposed regime of the Shah in 1979. This deprived the U.S. of the services of the “Gendarme of the Gulf” serving U.S. oil interests, and intervening in Yemen (to support royalists against republicans) and Oman (to suppress a secessionist movement). It was a huge blow to Washington’s geopolitical interests, and the U.S. wants to reestablish its lost hegemony.

Mohammad Alireza, it's official

You are a clown (but not the funny type, unfortunately). You accuse me of being "hired" and being on a "campaign" (let me guess: by neocons-AIPAC-Zionists-Mossad-CIA-MI6-MEK-warmongers). The reason you say this is 110% obvious: you have NOTHING whatsoever to say in response to MY FACTS. Nothing. Nada.

It seems you only write comments on other postings on iranian.com and I suspect you have been hired to do just that.

Well, so far 330 people have read the above article so I think that proves your campaign is failing.

"A brutal U.S.-imposed regime"

by AMIR1973 on

The "brutal U.S.-imposed regime" executed fewer people in the period 1941-1978 than the heroic, wonderful, freedom-loving recolutionary regime executed in the year 1979 alone (a number which grew manifold in the following years). The Stalinists over at Counterpunch who don't speak Persian, have never been to Iran, and know preciseley jack-squat about Iranian history can bark their pre-packaged anti-American slogans all they want, just like their tyrannical IRI counterparts (after all, Americans, unlike Iranians, have freedom of speech), but don't expect Iranians living in freedom to eat it up like their typical moronic readership.
