Swift, the body that handles global banking transactions, says it will cut Iran's banks out of the system on Saturday to enforce sanctions.

Mehrdad Emadi, who is an expert in sanctions and their effect, said the move will send shockwaves through Iran's economy and make life extremely difficult for businesses there.

Mr Emadi works for the consultancy Beta Matrix, which advises the European Union on trade issues.
