The man who killed four people at a Jewish school in Toulouse had a camera around his neck and may have filmed the scene, France's interior minister says.
Claude Gueant said the camera was one clue helping police build a profile, as the manhunt intensifies with the area on the highest level of terror alert.
Police have linked the attack to two shootings last week in which three soldiers of North African descent died.
The same gun and the same scooter were used in all the attacks.
French schools held a minute's silence on Tuesday.
>>>There is no clear motive, in this investigation, but it is an inescapable fact that all the victims have been Jewish, black or of north African descent.
The police are working against the clock, hoping they have put enough resources in the region to serve as the deterrent.
But the serial killer may develop an urge to take greater and greater risks, and the fear is that he is already planning his next attack.
There is a pattern to the style and frequency of the shootings - so far they have come every four days. And that puts the focus and concern on Friday - the Muslim day of prayer.

AFP - A blast rang out Wednesday as French police besieged a flat where an Islamist suspect in a series of deadly shootings was holed up, claiming he had acted to avenge Palestinian children.
Two officers had already been wounded as shots rang out in the ongoing operation to arrest the suspect, thought to be a French national of North African origin who told officers he was a member of the Al-Qaeda network.
Sorry to disappoint you ... or is it the contrary ? ;0)

France probes neo-Nazi shooting link
by Darius Kadivar on Tue Mar 20, 2012 10:09 AM PDTFrance probes neo-Nazi shooting link (CNN)
Toulouse, France (CNN) -- Authorities are investigating the possibility that neo-Nazis are behind a shooting spree that left three children and a teacher dead at a Jewish school in France, Interior Minister Claude Gueant said Tuesday.
That is one of several ideas authorities are following after the Monday killings -- the third fatal attack on people from minority groups in the south of France in the space of eight days.
The country's southwest region remained on scarlet alert, the highest possible level, after the teacher and three children were gunned down at the Ozar Hatorah school in Toulouse.
