Any relation to Maryam Savoji (1919-?) She wrote legal texts and was an attorney. She was the first woman that brought up the topic of women's rights in 1956 on air at Iran radio station. She also wrote the story of "the girl and the Angel".

Fantastic Artistic!

When I was in Tehran last April, I was afforded an opportunity to see some of her paintings.  She is a fantastic painter, a great artist, and a beautiful woman.  Of the paintings shown here, I love #5 the most.  The face of the girl in the painting is so serene.  I don’t get tired of looking at it.  The colors are so calming.

I love her watercolor beyond words. And as far as I am concerned, it doesn't matter what work makes it to Saatchi or not, someone will definitely be buying these. Is she in Iran? Will her work be available in the states? There's such a flow of elegance to her pieces. 

Maryam Savoji

I have had the good fortune to know Maryam Savoji and her work from the beginning of her painting career. She has come a long way since the day she drew the Noshahr fish market, a painting which adorns my humble home, among some of her other works.

Maryam Savoji has won many awards in Iran and her works have been widely exhibited in recognition of her style. I am glad I have finally had a chance to show the works of one of my friends to the rest of my friends worldwide. There is a lot of honesty and feeling in all her paintings. Her mastery of her art has become evident through each passing year, and her followers in Iran have grown by leaps and bounds. In addition to knowing her art, I am proud to also know her heart, a heart more beautiful than any work of art in the finest museums of the world.

I wish her success as she starts to show her work to audiences outside Iran. I look forward to attending one of her exhibitions in the San Francisco Bay Area someday.

Beautiful

I enjoyed these paintings very much. Especially the first nine in this set and #15 & #16. Sunflowers are one of the most common themes in art and can be easily dismissed as repetitive. Savoji's sunflowers have something more, something fresh. She has made them her own. That's an artist.

This is in no disrespect for Savoji's work, but being on Saatchi's online gallery has no dis/repute - it's an open and in rotation.

The "Art"? I have no idea what to do with it, but I'm absolutely sure, that someone will buy it
