The History of the Iranian Commercial Aviation

by Mahin (not verified) on

Mr. Atrvash
I just finished reading your book of The History of Iranian Aviation which received it from a dear friend of mine as my Birth Day Present recently. I thank you and my friend for this valuable gift. I love Iran and particulary its history. As a daughter of an ex staff of Iran Air, reading your book took me to my childhood and all good memories. If it wasn’t because of your love to your years of experience at Iran Air and your dedication to your fellow Iranian we wouldn’t have this book now. Many thanks.
Best regards,
Mahin, Los Angeles

The History of Iranian Commercial Aviation

by Sina (not verified) on

Dear Mr. Atrvash,

My father finished reading your book of History of Iranian Commercial Aviation. When I found his interest and joy of reading and talking about it to me and my younger sister, I asked him to read some part of the book for me. I myself found it very interesting, specially the history part of Aviation in Iran. It is my understanding that so many young Iranian boys and girls around the world are in love with the History of Iranian Aviation in English.

I would be more than happy to have this wonderful book in English some time soon.

Thank you,

Sina , Frankfort, Germany

I am a former TomCat (F-14)

by F-14-Shahin-Sahand-Delta (not verified) on

I am a former TomCat (F-14) Commander and was in charge of one of the squads who provided air support/superiority for Iranian Air Force attack pilots who attached Iraq on the second day of the war.

Two of my family members were among the first batch of Iranian pilots during Reza-Shah. One of them used to fly his plane over Tehran, finding a very tall tree in his parents' house, and rotate around that!! Tehran had been very small (limited to the current area around Bazar) and finding the tree apparently had not been a problem!! He died young (under 40) in an air crash (I think) in Mashhad.

Another individual was the first person in Iran who used a parachute to escape from a doomed aircraft. He had landed in "Varamin" and had been lost for two weeks, living on uncooked Eggplants and Tomatoes picked from farms around varamin!

After that, he had an accident in which about 60-70% of his body was burnt. They used to sleep him in pure cotton (Panbeh) for six month. being a very good looking man, everybody regretted that he had lost his handsome face to burn marks. Much to everybody's surprise, the burns made him look even better in a rogue way!! He died at 93 in California.

He was the last member of that batch, and one of only few who did not lost their lives in air accidents.

Both these guys have been extremely good looking and if I could, I would have attached their pictures here.

Their uniform had been a great catch for people's eyes when they would return home.
May God bless them all.
May God bless the pilots who lost their lives defending Iran in War.

Befor reading the full text and looking at the pictures,I HAD to write this and say that I agree with you 100% on this, that dealing with aviation industry IS an addiction, regardless of life throws at you later, been there, done that ! and GOD knows I eat, breath and live that addiction !

OK......now let me go back and read the text and look at the pictures..LOL
