by rz (not verified) on Sat Dec 27, 2008 07:37 AM PSTKeeping up with the proverbial Joneses is what many of us iranians are acustomed to--ghorore bija, and velkharjie bikhod, just have a bigger wedding but who am i to say anything.......whatever floats your boat
Big wedding or small wedding, but please no "loos wedding"
by blogger (not verified) on Sat Dec 27, 2008 12:50 AM PST$$$$, whether someone chooses to spend their money on a big wedding or take a 45 day trip and buy gifts for each other is a personal choice. There is no right or wrong. Someone can take issue with your choice as well and say, you and your wife must be "bee kas va bee khanevadeh" to not have a big wedding and have all your cousins, etc. at your wedding.
Even when you have $$$$
by LA (not verified) on Fri Dec 26, 2008 08:39 PM PSTI married a lovely American woman ( A doctor) in Las Vegas in Jan 2001. it wasn't for a green card!!!!. . Anyway, we decided at that time to not spend thousands of dollars (even-though i had $$$) for the wedding just to feed people. Instead, we invited a few close friends and our families and we had a ball.
Then, we spent the wedding money on a vacation. So, we bought first class tickets to Europe and spent over 45 days in Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal, and many other European countries. we spoiled each other with shopping and gifts. The point here is that it seems foolish to spend thousands of $$$ just to please people who i guarantee you 100% will complain later about the food, drinks etc,,especially at an "IRANIAN WEDDING". Invite a few good friends and close relatives and have a small wedding at the beach (my favorite) and have fun, After all, it's your day.
Spoiled Bride (Aroos Tarifi)!!
by farshadjon on Fri Dec 26, 2008 12:17 PM PSTI hope the best for the couple. To be honest, I really don’t want to see them divorce and fight less than a year!!!
Just kidding aside, I am against any kind of wedding. The simpler the ceremonies, the better. The couple must enjoy the company of each other instead of putting together these pointless clips and showing to everybody on the net.
