George Galloway digs in even deeper, now claiming that gay people can "meet for trysts" openly in the centre of Tehran. (C5, Wright Stuff, 14 March 2008). The UK is reviewing the case of Iranian homosexual teenager Mehdi Kazemi, who has said he will be executed if forced to return to Iran. The UK rejected his first asylum plea, but Jacqui Smith has now granted him a temporary reprieve from deportation while she reconsiders his case. Mr Kazemi, 19, had failed to gain asylum in the Netherlands.

by Dariush (not verified) on Sun Mar 16, 2008 09:46 AM PDTIt seems to me west as usuall cares more about ones sex drive than human rights. If it was about human rights they would help to stop the killings in Africa and they wouldn't be committing this on going genecide themselves in palestine and many other crimes in other parts of the world with the help of the United a few nations, whose report has no value in the world. What is funny is that, the most wishes criminal of all time are pointing finger at others. It remins me of the saying "those who point a finger at others always have rest of their fingers pointing at themseves". Perhaps the reason they don't want the criminals to be hanged in Iran is that, they can travel to the east and committ crimes without being punished. As they often travel from west to oriental countries to have sex with children or the rapes in Iraq and etc. I must warn you if you come to Iran and commit such crimes, the law will cut your balls off then hang you, but they will give you a chioce to choose which ever you want first!!!
another gay execution 2007 - also a minor
by David ET on Sun Mar 16, 2008 03:51 AM PDTGENEVA : United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Louise Arbour, expressed her “grave concern” over the execution of Makwan Moloudzadeh on Wednesday in a prison in Kermanshah Province in the Islamic Republic of Iran. "It was reported that the execution was carried out, despite his alleged victims withdrawing their accusations" Ms. Arbour observed.
In the statement issued from her office, Ms. Arbour said: "The High Commissioner calls on the Islamic Republic of Iran to respect its international legal obligations and the strong international consensus against the execution of minors"
The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) and the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) place a legal obligation on States Parties not to impose death penalty for those under the age of 18 years at the time of commission of crimes. The Islamic Republic of Iran is a party both to the ICCPR and to the CRC.
Iran is the leading executor of children and juvenile offenders. Mouloudzadeh was sentenced to death in May by a Kermanshah court even though it said all of his accusers had retracted their statements.
Iran says it is prosecuting criminals under its Islamic Sharia law and rejects criticism of its human rights record.

Preten to be Gay if you want to stay in UK
by Apadana (not verified) on Sun Mar 16, 2008 03:32 AM PDTPretend to be Gay if you want to stay in UK, this is what they say to poor young Iranian people who want to stay in Europe. My nephew was told the same when he visited us in summer 2004. Those two boys were hung in Iran in 2005 were not gay. They were hung because they raped young boys.

by Nadias on Sun Mar 16, 2008 12:13 AM PDTAnonymouse already tried to help you find a woman but you never communicated with some of them. The few you did communicate with you ended up insulting. You never tell a woman that "all women want to do is talk, talk and talk". In case you did not realize that can be seen as an insult to a woman.
He also tried to give you advice about college and the selling of your art work.

David ET: this may be abuse of justice but not TARGETING gays
by Karaji (not verified) on Sat Mar 15, 2008 08:34 PM PDTstill the main question stands. No one was hanged for just being gay. Having sex with a 13 year old is a crime. Also, boys in Iran reach adulthood at 15, not 18. If they were childern according to Iranian law, they would not be executed. Please tell the truth.

by koorosh (not verified) on Sat Mar 15, 2008 08:28 PM PDTDavid your story doesn't match with mine. Do you have any more that I can research. If this is the only two gays within the past 29 years that is two out of hundreds if not thousands of gays. There are more rape, murder and execution being commited in one day by western goverments and zionists on gays and none gays. If infact it is about human rights, they all must be stopped.
2 gay children executed in Iran in 2005
by David ET on Sat Mar 15, 2008 07:01 PM PDTUnfortunately Mr. Galloway still continues to act as an apologists for the crimes of the Islamic Regime :
As reported by all international media including amnesty international etc.
Photos of executions of two gay boys UNDER 18 years of age:
1 , 2, 3 , 4, 5, 6 , 7
Mahmoud Asgari and Ayaz Marhoni were Iranian teenagers from the province of Khuzestan who were hanged in Edalat (Justice) Square in Mashad northeast Iran, on July 19, 2005.
Prior to their execution, the two were also given 228 lashes each for drinking, disturbing the peace and theft.
The case attracted the attention of the international media on two grounds: firstly, due to the belief that the boys had been executed for engaging in consensual homosexual sex, while the Iranian judiciary assert it was for the rape of a 13-year old boy and secondly, due to the belief that they were below 18 years old at the time of the offence, and one of them is believed to have been a minor when he was executed.
Journalist Afdhere Jama interviewed numerous sources from Mashhad who maintain that Mahmoud Asgari, Ayaz Marhoni, and five other friends were originally accused of committing consensual homosexual acts on each other (Lavaat). One of the accusers is believed to be an older half-brother of Ayaz Marhoni.
The seven boys were taken into police custody, and then examined by a doctor for signs of rectal scarring. Asgari, Marhoni, and a 13-year-old friend tested positive, while the other boys did not. As punishment, Asgari, Marhoni, and the 13-year-old received lashes administered by law enforcement officers.
The father of the 13-year-old boy is said to be a senior Revolutionary Guards officer. Mashhad sources interviewed by Jama insist that the father’s position, one which deals largely with suppressing internal dissent, and defending the regime, grants him a very high social and political status. Sources believe this is why the typically unyielding Iranian government had so freely changed the 13-year-old’s account from consensual homosexual sex to rape. It also explains why Marhoni and Asgari, both minors, had received such harsh punishments. They were ALL CHILDREN under 18.
no one hangs gays in Iran.
by Fozool (not verified) on Sat Mar 15, 2008 06:41 PM PDTno one hangs gays in Iran. Iran only hangs child molesters. same as arabic countries. garys are everywhere walking. no one talks about them and no one hangs them. only if a person is child molesters .

by Dariush (not verified) on Sat Mar 15, 2008 06:21 PM PDTHere we go again. British with their f.... up human right records are making human right claims. I have a lot of respect for Goerge Galloway for speaking the truth no matter what. I couldn't belive that there is a british man who does that. we don't want the gays to be harmed, but we also don't want them to harm us. I don't like them to rub their ass to me when I am riding the bus or advertise their lifestyle to childeren. Don't I have rights? If this is about human rights not propaganda, why west is having such a hard time to give this poor guy asylum and they tussle him around? If they like homosectuals so much, why they don't adopt them? I am sure Queen Elizabeth can afford to house some of them in her castle. They can play with prince charles and his sons. Has anyone ever been benefited from these british bastards? We all know if they put Israel on the map, it wasn't to help them! It was to run them out of Europe and at the same time create instability in Middle east, so they can fish. As they have in other parts of the world for centuries. Our stupid Reza Shah gave them our counry, See what they did to him! Saddam bent over forward and backward to them for decades, see what they did to him. We do have problems in Iran!!! There should be no political prisoners! There should be equal rights for women! There should be freedom of speech and hejab, and etc , but if you think these are what the west wish for us to have, you are dead wrong. Our goverment has made some mistakes and has not 100% looked after everyone's well being in Iran, but we know west 100% for sure is not after our well being. Those who don't think so and are selling themselves and Iran for any reason and price should open their eyes, read the history and watch the news. The epoch of divide and concur has passed. We are UNITED and stay UNITED. MAY GOD BLESS IRAN and our prayers to Iranians who fought for our country, died or injured and their families, or there wouldn't be anything left from Iran. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE.

right and wrong!
by Kamangir on Sat Mar 15, 2008 04:12 PM PDTGalloway is right and wrong at the same time. He's accurate in saying that all over the world Gays have been discriminated against and in some regions or nations even killed, however is wrong in saying that in Iran nobody is killed because of being gay. In Iran and other islamic nations, these issues are treated and handled by the 'sharia' law and according to that law gays and homosexuals are to be killed and in this has taken place in Iran. Therefore galloway is right and wrong at the same time!

Where is Faribors Maleknasri,M.D.when you need him?
by Ali P. on Sat Mar 15, 2008 02:57 PM PDTHe seems to be an authority on the laws of the Islamic Republic. Honestly, I have not been able to find a bold statement of the Iranian law, under which "homosexuality" is dealt with. The -most of the time credible- western media mention "homosexuality" is against the law in Iran, punishable by death.
Is this "shameless propaganda"?
Fine. You tell us.
Enlighten us!
What is the official view of the IRI of homosexuals ( if we have any in Iran!)?
Is homosexuality ( the tendency, as well as the behavior) banned by the Iranian criminal code?
What is the official punishment for "homosexual behavior"?
I would like to hear the answers, not from the opposition, but from the horse's mouth.
Gays are NOT hanged in Iran
by Ali (not verified) on Sat Mar 15, 2008 01:16 PM PDTIt is good that people all over the world are starting to see through this shameless propaganda of the Iranian opposition groups.
I think galloway is right
by Koolio (not verified) on Sat Mar 15, 2008 01:11 PM PDTLook, if Gay people were being hung "just" for being gay, shouldn't we see tens of thousands of hangings? It makes no sense. If they really wanted to just kill gays, they can do it. Why bother with 4 or 5 a year if that's your goal?
I also agree that there is a disturbing discrimination in Iran. But in every case there has been rape or under-age sex involved. These are crimes, maybe not hanglable offenses but severe crimes still.
Galloway is a shamelss lier
