A daring play currently on stage in Chicago, which tells the story of Mahmoud Asgari and Ayaz Mahrouni, two homosexual teen-age boys in Mashad who were caught, tried and hung for their "sin." Here's information about the play: haramiran.com

by dc (not verified) on Wed Nov 12, 2008 03:17 PM PSTy should we kiss foreigners ass just because they r western??what have they done to themselves more than getting dirtier and dirtier in mind and soul?
they r improving coz v work 4 them like slaves.
and these 2 teenagers were killed coz they had raped an innocent child.
what would u wish for them if the child was your own son or bro??to be given more time to f*** each other more???
how can you know what's true or not true
by American Wife on Wed Nov 12, 2008 02:54 PM PSTFirst you get drawn into the injustice of two young gay men being murdered for being homosexual. Then it comes out that they weren't, that they were punished for gang rape of a 13 year old. Then you hear that THAT isn't the truth. So arguments or comments tend to be inconsistent.
Absolutely I have 100% sympathy for innocent victims. But gang rape? I ain't too fond of that either. Should they be executed for it? That's going to depend purely on your own personal beliefs about capital punishment. If MY son were 13 and he was gang raped by some teenagers. How old... 13 themselves? 15... 16... 18? I'm not sure what I'd feel was appropriate punishment.
But the standards that we expect child molesters HERE to be held to would certainly apply in Iran as well.
So. Victim or rapist?
f....k them if they are not happy they should move out?
by hajiagha on Wed Nov 12, 2008 02:37 PM PSTf..... them , you are stupid , each country have own law and own culture, why we should go after stupid western life if we are Persian?
Iran have own law
USA have own law.
Germany have own law
each nation are different
Sad
by Anonymous111 (not verified) on Wed Nov 12, 2008 02:09 PM PSTvery sad that these two young men were murdered. Who cares what people do in their private lives?
another case was reported by SCE
by IRANdokht on Wed Nov 12, 2008 01:43 PM PSTThere was another so-called rape case that was just a lie and they executed Makwan Moloudzadeh. He was found guilty of the rape of some younger kids. Later those kids came out and said they had lied, but Makwan was executed anyway, because he had dared to smoke a cigarette during the month of Ramadan!
I wouldn't count of the justice of these courts or what crimes they claim were committed by the accused.
We're not talking about a reliable justice system. That's exactly why executions in Iran have to be stopped!

Queer and Azad
by Mehran-001 (not verified) on Wed Nov 12, 2008 01:31 PM PSTIf what you are saying is true, then why don't the court open all the documents for everyone to see. As far as I can tell so far the only court system that we have in Iran is a Kangaroo court system. They can prove anyone guilt at any time no questions asked and no problem.
I am a queer Iranian
by Queer iranian (not verified) on Wed Nov 12, 2008 12:45 PM PSTI am a queer Iranian, and I have been following this case from the beginning. These teenagers were not hung for homosexuality. This was a gang rape case. They had gang raped a thirteen year old boy.
Of course I am against the death penalty, specially that in this case they were teenagers. However, we should not confuse the gang rape of a 13 year old boy with homosexuality.
The 'story' was actually first brought to international attention by Mojahedine khalg (go figure!) and was later used by Log Cabin Republicans and other right wing gay groups...

by Majid Rafat (not verified) on Wed Nov 12, 2008 12:00 PM PSTFrom the play's website:
"What is known is that they were adolescents, who were tried and sentenced for the "sin" of homosexuality. Then, after the international press became outraged. the judge increased the charges to “rape of a younger man.”
Azad99,
you know, acknowledging the existence of homosexuals and IRI's ill treatment of them does not make us homosexuals. We can be straight and support gay rights.

by Azad99 (not verified) on Wed Nov 12, 2008 11:36 AM PSTThe two men in Mashhad were NOT hung for homosexuality! They were hung for RAPE.
When are we going to stop begging for foreigners attention by playing the victims and lying to everyone, including ourselves?!
