It is really just a group belly dance, but the name sounds interesting and the women are gorgeous!

Dance is always nice, but...
by Iranian Dance Critic (not verified) on Wed Sep 03, 2008 08:47 AM PDTWell, these guys aren't serious dancers so I shouldn't really critique them. I'll just point out that "belly" dancing isn't just about bellies and hips. That's really just technique and anybody can learn it. The real artistry is in the chest and shoulders (epaulment, as they call it in Ballet) and, ultimately, the face.
Have you noticed that no matter how excellent western women are at the technique of belly dancing they never quite make it in our experienced eye? Because the subtleties are missing: the luscious chest, the playful glance, the face totally alive, the give-and-take with the music and the audience, the absolute fun of it all...
I mean, take a look at Jamileh and you tell me if even the best and most gorgeous western women with their belabored technique can hold a candle to her.
Holy mother of all Persian dancers
