Our soldiers took back 'khorram-shahr' just thanks to their courage. Saddam was helped by all these 'cheshm aby-hayed' blood suckers and we had only our faith and love on our country. Khomeini and Islam have nothing to do with that.

Well, maybe it would be a good idea for the Iranians living abroad to put more effort in commemorating the Iranian soldiers and also help the amputees of war to be heard so that their life conditions will improve. That would be a far more valuable cause than inciting people in Iran to violence, trying to restore "monarchy", disturbing meetings and shouting outdated slogans.

Why not give it a try?

who so selflessly gave their life for the security of their country. For their "sharaf" and "gheyrat". May god damn Khomeini and his daro dasteh for creating the opportunity for Saddam to invade Iran an may he burn in hell for killing out the top of our military. May he also burn for letting the war continue and by doing so killing mote Iraninas.

I'll never forget that day

by B-Naam on

I rode my bicycle from Tehranparse to the intersection of Dardasht and Kaamiaab in Naarmak only to be greeted by a cheering crowd.  The intersection was full of people.  Toffees went airborne.  So did the bullets.  Cars were brought to a standstill.

I'll never forget that day.  I’ll never forget our boys that paid dearly for the liberation of Khorramshahr.  I'll never forget what they all did for eight long years.  They're forever my heroes.  Somewhere deep in my heart, they are forever alive guarding our borders.  Can't write anymore...

Not all fought for Iran were basijis and hizbollahi, they were just ordinary Iranians who fought for their country because they loved their homeland and not the Khomeini. Most hizbollahi didn't even had the guts to go out and fight..they are only good for rooze khoni.....

Thank You

by Fair (not verified) on

Thank you to all those who sacrificed everything and did the impossible. We are a great nation and will rise again.

Also, I give NO CREDIT to this government for defending us, since they were reckless with their policies so that the war could happen in the first place, and they insisted on continuing the war for so many years, so our young best and brightest would pay dearly while they fattenned their bank accounts. In my eyes they are no different than Saddam- they are anti-Iranian.

I would like to also acknowledge a group which never gets any recognition- the Air Force. The government does not like to give them credit because they are considered "taghooti", but without them Iraq would be quite a bit larger today. Our fallen pilots can be found here:

//www.iiaf.net/stories/warheroes/warheroes.ht...

I ask you to join me in spending a moment to look at them and remember them. They are our modern day Ferdosi's and Rostam's.

Our government does not have the decency to commemorate them, so a private website by one of the ex pilots is all there is.

And by the way, the country belongs to ALL IRANIANS, even the ones in Los Angeles. FYI, many of the Khorramshahr and Iran Iraq veterans are in Los Angeles as well. Instead of retiring comfortably with respect in Iran, some of them are driving taxis and having very difficult lives abroad.

Thank you again. You will NEVER be forgotten.

May 2008, a 26th Commemoration of Khorramshahr Liberation

by News Goffer on

Iranians fought the war valiantly, sacrificing so much for it. Those who perished, those who were maimed, those who were disabled and became sick for the rest of their lives, all leave me in awe of their courage and ultimate sacrifice for Iran.

There has been much talk about this particular moment in contemporary Iranian history, the liberation of Khorramshahr, to have been the best time for Iran to have ended the war, accepting compensation from Arab nations who were offering it willingly and ending the war in glory (whatever that word really means). It is believed that certain authorities in Iranian war administration did not wish for the war to end, dragging it on, exaggerating about Iranian armed forces' abilities to achieve "victory" (jang, jang, ta piroozi), leading it to claim thousands more lives, and finally ending it when we were in a very weak negotiating position, receiving no compensation for it, though Iraq was recognized as he aggressor and agitator of this war.

It would be nice to see the war veterans living better lives in Iran. For all the slogans thrown back and forth about them, many of them have very poor living conditions, unable to receive decent medical care and even wheelchairs and artificial limbs. Some of us know of some war veterans affected by Iraq's chemical warfare to have been moved into a room in their mother's care, where they have stayed bed-ridden and sick for the past two and three decades. No one can bring the dead soldiers back. May they rest in peace, the brave soldiers of Iran. The ones who are still alive and the families of the dead and maimed, are a different story and their stories will be heard in full one day.

We should never forget them.

by Dariush (not verified) on

We should never forget them. I wished those who try to discredit basigis, hezbollahis and chadoris by calling them in the dark and calling them names first could understand how much they have sacrificed.

the day. I was a third-grader. We got an early release from school. Though we were kids, we were so excited. I remember all of us taking "gach" with us and writing on every wall, " khoramshahr azad shod." What a day!

What a surprising BREAK!

by Jaleho on

I have been watching Iranian.com in the past month and I noticed that the site is like an official Bahai recruitment and advertisement site at times. Other times, it looks like a cross road for dreamers who bash Iran with the hope of return of monarchy, similar to the Russian Diaspora in Paris who got together every Christmas to toast to the return of czar, from 1917 revolution all the way to the fall of Soviet Union :-)

Quite a pleasant departure from constant glorification of the "Satrapis" who made their fame by making fun of the "plastic key to heaven and the virgins" promised to these heroes of Iran-Iraq war!!

Nader khaan,

Say what you think is right and don't you worry a bit about being labled.

Just look at the  KHEFFATT   in Iraqi's face @7:36 and 8:15 !

That alone made Saddam-e goor be goor shodeh "Sardaar-e Ghaadesieh" so proud! (Ibn-e Sharmoot)!

Too bad some of our hamvatans were not around to see "Saddam Insane" being pulled out of a rat hole like the dirty rat that he was !

May GOD bless our soldiers' soul indeed, THEY are the reason Iran is intact today .

Nader

May god bless their souls!

by Nader on

Regardless of their believes or political views, "WE" owe them our country. Without their sacrifice, there would not be a Khoramshahr today.

We should also never forget the treachery of MKO who at the same time were selling their country and their souls to the Devil!

Long live Iran.

By the way, don't even bother labeling me being a Hezbolahi for praising these brave soldiers. It won't work. They indeed saved our asses like it or not!

May God bless the youths of Arya-mehr who had balls as big as the mullah's head.

And The King (Alaa Hazrat-e Homayooni, Shahanshah Aryamehr; Mohammad-Reza Pahlavi, Bozorg Arteshdaaraan-e Iran) for training such brave patriotic Arya-land lovers.

May peace be upon His soul,

Amen.
