V-Day is a global movement to end violence against women and girls that raises funds and awareness through benefit productions of Playwright/Founder Eve Ensler's award winning play "The Vagina Monologues". For more detailed information about V-Day, its work and outreach, please visit their official site.
On Thursday, March 6th, the official V-Day SF 2008 production of "The Vagina Monologues" took place in the Castro Theatre. The event was a success and the actresses performed in front of a packed house. Iranian/Danish actress Leila Radan performed "My Vagina Was My Village" where she portrayed a Bosnian woman who was gang raped by soldiers. [See Radan's "V for voice"]
The intro to the monologue is as follows:
"Bosnian women refugees were interviewed during the war in Yugoslavia, in refugee camps and centers. Twenty to seventy thousand women were raped in the middle of Europe as a systematic tactic of war. It was shocking to see how little people did to stop it. But, then again, in the United States, each year, about two hundred thousand women are raped, which is another kind of war. This monologue is based on one woman's story. We do it tonight for that woman and the extraordinary women of Bosnia and Kosovo."

For Norooz....
by Kaveh Nouraee on Tue Mar 25, 2008 11:38 AM PDTI would like to see you, John Carpenter, I, II AND III, along with all of your multiple aliases and your singular, yet profoundly warped, personality, receive your long overdue comeuppance.
I highly doubt you spoke with Mr. Sacirbey. You are quite simply not in his league. If you ever encountered him, it was probably when you parked his car.
By the way, you ethnic retard, Iranians are NOT Arabs. There are some Arabs who are Iranian, but not the other way around. I don't expect you to know that, as you have proven yourself to be so profoundly stupid that you cannot even spell DNA, let alone know anything about the matter.
In addition to being a mentally stunted, you are also a racist. Making comparisons of rape victims by their ethnicity is disgusting. It makes no difference as to the ethnicity, or religion, or naionality. Rape is unacceptable in any manner, and under any circumstances. Being born Moslem is not a crime. Luckily for you, being ignorant and stupid isn't a crime either.
Chauvi-Nazi "John Carpenter III" open his mouth again

assault
by notright (not verified) on Mon Mar 24, 2008 06:52 PM PDTThe point is no one has the right to assault anyone in any way. Not right. We are all human and we are basically good and should not physically harm each other.
Fema-Nazis strike again
by John Carpenter III (not verified) on Mon Mar 24, 2008 06:45 PM PDTWomen complain a lot. Yes, maybe, women were raped in Bosnia because they were Muslim Bosnians. Everyone knows that.
I spoke with Omar Sacribey, brother of Bosnia's UN representative back in 1993. He spoke about how the Bosnians would have been helped if they had a barrel of Oil like the Kuwaitis had during Saddam Husayn's invasion of Kuwait.
Let us not forget that Saddam's soldiers also raped Iranian and Iraqi Women during the occupation of Kuwait and KhorramShahr, Iran. The raping of Iranian women was so horrendous in KhorramShahr that the city was re-named "KhoneenShahr". The interesting thing is that KhoramShahr is a city occupied by Arab Iranians. Yes, Arab-Iranians, a minority group that does not get a lot of "air-time" in Iran. It was these same Arab-Iranians that resisted Saddam's soldiers. To this day, Arab Iranians sacrificed all to maintain Iran boundaries.
To every Iranian that says that Iranians are not arabs... I say, "you are wrong".
Comparing the rape of women in America to the genocide of muslim women in the muslim world is wrong. Saddam was a secular Baathist leader. Milosevic was a secular socialist leader. Their soldiers raped Muslim women for a reason.
The only crime these women committed was that they were born Muslim.
To de-value Female Muslims as such is so wrong.
In 2008, I pay respect to the Muslim women who were raped in Bosnia, Iraq and Kuwait. I tip my hat to them.
To American women I say, "You are spoiled". You don't deserve any pity from anyone. You are "fema-NAZIs". The world does not revolve around you. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
