To All those Who Read My Comments

by Kouroush Sassanian (not verified) on

I want to make sure that you fully understand what my background is:

I was devoted to Mammad Reza Shah Pahlavi. Also, I am a Zartoshti, and when I was growing up, I grew up among the Jewish people.

Consequently, I developed strong negative feelings towards Islam.

Please remeber that when you are reading my comments in this blog. Thanks

P.S. I also use multiple names throughout this site. Names such as Ahmad Bahai, Anonymouspb, Anonymous2008, babakoohi, Kos Sher, and most recently, Nader Vanaki, and Kafka.

By the way, there is also no difference between Nader Vanaki, the real Nader Vanaki, or me. We are all the same people.

I'll keep you posted of new ones if I use them.

Message from Officer Tehrani

by Mohammad Kazerouni on

Hi Guys... This is Officer Tehrani, oh wait... I should say Mike Kazerouni, I don't wanna get sued....

I couldn't hold back any longer and thought I should write.... even though I realize I'm jumping into a proverbial shark tank, as Kaveh Nouraee pointed out to Mani....

Anyhow, I just wanted to respond to Dokhtar Irooni... first, I'm glad you are a fan of bebin.tv, second...rest assured the interview with the Iranian Homeless was not scripted, but rather a real story, If you are ever around Los Angeles, visit the Westwood area, or as Officer Tehrani would call it "Vestvood" area, and you will surely run into him.

As far as Tehrangeles, I have to say I am very surprised people considered it to be a real person, rather then a fictional one, we thought there were enough clues that it was an entertainment, non-reality, scripted show. If the credits at the end of the show didn't give it away, I would have assumed that Jahanshah's Label of the Iranian of the Day would have given it away, since he put both "Mike Tehrani" and "Police Officer" in quotation marks... just look above....

Also to KAVEH Nouraee... fun or funny is subjective, as much as I agree with you that the first show wasn't funny, at least to me, this coming from the main character, you would be surprised how much positive feedback we received and how many people actually thought it was funny... I do have to add that the second and third episodes that are coming up, the second of which is now available on www.bebin.tv, are funnier.... my favorite is the third... So to sum it up... I hope in the future we can also have scripts that meet your standard for amusement, and believe you me, we try to appeal to everyone, in the meanwhile, we'll continue to build our fan base....

Lastly... as always, as a bebin.tv team member, I'd like to extend my invitation once more to all of you to continue sending us your feedback regarding our programs, good or bad, as it helps us improve our programs.

DISCLAIMER:

Please note, for those of you who still do not know the difference between real or fiction, Officer Tehrani (Actor Mike Kazerouni), will be holding a press conference at the Vestvood Federal Building yesterday afternoon with prominent members of City Hall and Barack Obama.  We hope you guys can join us on the lawn and please bring your loved ones. Note: Homeland Security officers will be checking citizenship status on the public sidewalks, your attendance is at your own risk.

I give you credit for responding in this forum. This can be a very vicious crowd at times, and you have jumped into the proverbial shark tank wearing a nice juicy steak around your neck.

It's funny that you bring up Reno 911, because you're trying to compare your production to that of a polished one that has been on TV for a while. I'm not saying you don't know your field of expertise, but at the risk of hurt feelings, the production left a lot to be desired. It simply wasn't funny. Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but immediately after the clip began rolling, the punchline of the joke was out. Now you want to repeat it? You would be more successful putting a broken egg yolk back into its shell. Besides, there's a lot to be said about originality.

As far as your goal and desire to produce a successful show, whether it's this one or another, believe me when I tell you that I wish you all the best. I, for one, enjoy seeing Iranian names on the credits of a U.S. film or TV production.

Answer to Mani Talebi

by Dokhtar Irooni (not verified) on

Mr. Talebi, I happen to watch Bebin.TV on a regular basis and I am a real fan. I especially love Mel Talks and Ladan's engagement episode, it was cool. When I first watched this LA Police episode on your website,I was so excited that an Iranian is in the law enforcement. I showed the clip to my husband immediately but he sighed and said that the guy is fake. My husband is in the US military so he can tell fake from real in a blink of an eye. I was disappointed, but not because it was fake, but because I thought the director of the episode wanted me to believe that it was real. The whole episode was made in a form of a documentary, especially when officer tehrani showed picture of his ancestors that he claimed were also in the law enforcement. However, the whole thing was fake or fiction. Now, I have a serious question from you. Are those clips from that Iranian homeless guy also fake or fiction? with mixing fiction and documentary, you have seriously undermined the reliability of your whole website. I hope you put some thoughts into this.

From the Writer and Director of the show

by Mani Talebi (not verified) on

This message goes out to the likes of Kaveh Nouraee, Dokhtar Irooni, merkury, a;slfdja;s and other with the same state of mentality.

As the writer and director of this show I have received immense positive feedback through blogs, emails and forums. I have to add that there has also been those who did not enjoy the show or elements of it and I have taken their criticism into account as that is the only way to improve ones work.
Although today two different friends called me and said that some rather weird reactions have been expressed on iranian.com about the show.
Me not being a regular visitor of this site thought I should take a look at these posts.

To majority of viewers this show was obviously fiction as it was intended and this is given away by the fact that the end credits say "Written and Directed by", "Starring" and it also mentions a "Costume Coordinator".
Now if this was an attempt to portrait a regular Iranian as true police officer why would the show need a costume coordinator or a writer for that matter?

The likes of Kaveh, Dokhtar Irooni, and merkury should maybe have analyzed the show and their conclusions a little bit more. What is even more disappointing is that people like you would never visit "Reno 911's" site to complain why they are trying to fool you in their attempt to portrait themselves as officers of the law. Now why don't you do it? Because you know its fiction. I guess why our production caused such a reaction among you is the fact that Iranian expatriots have never attempted to create such shows in this manner and scale, rather it has been the regular satellite TV shows of sitting infront of a green screen and letting the phones ring. Hence an attempt to create quality productions (whether you like the theme or not) is so alien that people will start making up the most absurd accusations.

Another disappointing post was by "a;slfdja;s" who with his short sentence assumed that just because this is an Iranian show and production, proper investigation into local laws and permissions hasn't been done (in regards of filming a fictional police show)! This reaction is yet another indicator that the Iranian entertainment industry and infrastructure outside of Iran is so backwards that regular viewers assume that "Iranian professionals" in the field probably don't know how things work in the field of their own expertise (the entertainment industry that is).

Bottom line is that "Tehrangeles" is a new show on bebin.tv that premiered on Feb 1st. Fortunately the general response have been good but even so a few responses from Iranians living in industrialized and modern countries like those posted here really casts some doubts with me!

To everyone else who liked it or even didn't like it but came to the conclusion of this being a comedy show; The team and I will do our best to improve the show!

/Mani Talebi

Stupied Iranians on Iranian.com

by dumb & dumber (not verified) on

I can not believe how stupid people can be. To think anyone would think this was a real Iranian police officer working for LAPD is beyond me.

What happened to the zerangi iraniaha? kharab kardid ke?!

Kaveh Nouraee

Not even remotely amusing

by Kaveh Nouraee on

The signs this was a fake:

1. The goatee.

2. The patches on his shoulders.

3. No shotgun in the front. No computer.

4. When attempting to detain an individual, English is spoken first, as it is assumed that the detainee speaks English (in the U.S.? Really? Wow, what a concept!!)

5. No nameplate on his uniform.

6. LAPD patrol cars do not have beige interiors.

Funny how they put up the disclaimer AFTER this lame skit was forst posted. But, then again, that's about the only thing even remotely funny about it.

Are Iranian.com Readers For Real?

by kheyli khengin (not verified) on

Are you guys kidding me????

It's obvious that this is a comedy skit... the show seems to be scripted.... hence acting.... yani.... hamash filmeh... enghadar jedi nagirin....

I am amazed at the level of ignorance... I remember seeing something about the homeless person in Westwood on bebin.tv and when I saw it on Iranian.com everyone was saying how it was scripted.... when in fact that show was real....

and when it comes to this show, where it should be obvious to everyone that it is scripted, you guys are commenting how it is illegal because he is impersonating a cop... kheyli mashalah kheng ziad darim.... this was a comedy sketch...maybe not a good one... but i can't believe some of you thought it was real... i guess we have to give them credit...they did a good job of fooling you guys...

last point... i remember reading a couple of years ago, somewhere, that the Iranian-American community had the highest rate of education per capita as compared to others in the United States.... who ever put out that report must have not been reading the comment must have not taken into consideration some of those people that comment on iranian.com

All I can say is that he has

by Dokhtar Irooni (not verified) on

All I can say is that he has covered his ass by saying at the end that: ( Starring Mike Kazerouni)so basically, he is implying that he is a totally different personality than what he is saying he is as Mike Tehrani in that episode. However, he can still be arrested and pressed charges upon because he has schemed this so cleverly that you can easily be fooled and submit to his perceived but false authority as a police officer and he can legally be punished for this. such a shame :(

WTF?

Is this suppose to be comedy bit, or is he trying to act like a real LAPD cop? It's tough to tell the difference. What's for sure is that the attempt at both has miserably failed.

I hate it when they forge

by Dokhtar Irooni (not verified) on

I hate it when they forge and make episodes that are not real. My husband is in the military and he told me that this guy is hundred percent NOT in the LAPD because you can't have beard as a police. You can have mustache but not beard. Besides, if you look closely, he is not carrying gun and his automobile is not a police car either. Such a shame he tries to fool people. About his dad and grandfather, I start doubting if those are lies too.
