I think Chert describes you best of all. Perhaps this form of art is beyond your understanding. The one thing that could be said about it, is that it beats the typical persian pop crap you "chert" listen to.

So do us all a favor and go back to your garbage pop music and hang out with junkies of your ilk with superiority complex.

I am really dense , so that makes you an airhead?! hehehh!

I'm actually surprised...

...that people don't get this song. How dense can you be? I guess some people don't even need Diazepam.

Namjoo

The best sound out of Iran for many, many years. I don't like all his songs but some of his work is fantastic, and I don't use that word liberally specially when referring to music.

Those who like mainstream music and pop, etc. then will probably not appreciate it. If you are in to prog rock, electronic, experimental then you will appreciate what he is doing. The world of music is full of manufactured , commercial crap. Rarely you hear true music from the heart these days.

I recommend listening to his Zolf Bar Baad too.

Can I ask a question from the person who has questioned Namjoo's technical ability if he has studied music himself and what is his "technical" music knowledge?

"Ey sareban" was acceptable as a song, well, at least it sounded normal. He needs to find his voice & style. He is all over. I like to sort of know what to expect from a singer. I am beginning to wonder if he loves to hear his own voice, as if an urge, and too verbose too. He just plays traditional music like ton of others. In his bio, it says he plays blues and rock. These genres are not demanding to play, but if he played good jazz, then at least I know he is technically sophisticated. It is particulalry not impressing since he has studied it professionally since a young age.
.
I have to agree with ramintork that this is a performance. Perhaps he is good for theatrical work, but his technical ability is not very impressive.

Musically so beautiful and sound, you do not need to know Farsi to enjoy it. Here is "Ey Sereban" by Mohsen Namjoo:

The style and originality of mohsen namjoo is unique. His music is very modern with a twist of anger and a touch of spice. There is a bitter humour and a sociopolitical message in some of his music. And for love, he is very tender.

He needs to find a style and stick with it, instead of constantly making up weird noises. He reminds me of the cheap perfomers/imitators that they bring up in the Jay Leno show from the general public , and do many odd little things.

Child of Laurie Anderson and Shahram Nazeri

by ramintork on

If you take the experimental performance style of Laurie Anderson (remember the 80s?) take off the electronics and apply it to Shahram Nazeri you get this new form.

Very Avant Garde but to be enjoyed as performance art rather than for its musical form.

Actually...

.. the name of this song is Diazepam 10. The part in the beginning where he shouts "bebin Diazepam 10 khorandand" just hasn't been recorded.

I hate some of the repetitive words he utters..such as...bebin, bebin, bebin,bebin...zarbo,zarbo,zarbo..adad, adad, adad.. with a high pitched male voice=totally annoying, mageh zani??? yuck
