70% or more of Iranian have that living standard
by Amir Nasiri (not verified) on Sat Oct 18, 2008 10:36 PM PDTI would like to thank Mr. Moalemian and whoever created that video.
The video is a clear representation of Iran's society and the true story how our country men and women are living across Iran.
If you tavel to the east or west or the south and north of Tehran (outside of north of Tehran) majority of Iranians are living under harsh and unfair condition.
The video animation deserves an Oscar and Mr. Moalemian deserves a thank you for haring the this video as well as great explanation to some fellow Iranians who have no understanding of the true Iran.
Great Clip

by Ali P. on Sat Oct 18, 2008 08:14 PM PDTGood point!
I don't know why cooking in an oven, or eating on a table, or women working outside, are viewed somehow superior to cooking on fire, eating on the floor, and women working inside the house.
He seems to tell us about HIS life in Iran, in comparison to HIS life in UK. I didn't hear him , claim, his life was a typical Iranian life.
We all lived Iranian lives back home. Who knows which one was typical, or represents a typical Iranian life.
Can we not each tell others about our life, without being accused of portraying the "Life in Iran" wrongfully?
Well said Pedram

Funny!
by Ajam (not verified) on Sat Oct 18, 2008 11:20 AM PDTThis video is as much representative of the Iranian life as a trailer-park dweller or a hillbilly shooting watermelons is of American!
P.s. I wonder why he did not mention using his hands to eat as opposed to the use of utensils by the English!!!
You People Are Funny!!!
by PedramMoallemian on Fri Oct 17, 2008 11:15 PM PDTDid the video come with the disclaimer "I am Pedram Moallemian and I approve this video"? If not, why are you asking me for explanation? It's something I came across on YouTube and like many things Iran related I come across, I forwarded it to JJ who chose to put it up. If you don't like it, chase the producers through YouTube.
But just for the fun of it, let me play the devil's advocate here:
A very good friend of mine, Rubad, is an Iranian refugee in Canada. He is also a proud Kurd and grew up in the moutainous region near both Iraqi and Turkish border. Like many people in rural Iran, he had never sat a table to eat until he entered Canada. No female in his family did anything but tend to household duties and mostly due to the semi-nomadic nature of their villages and lack of access to reguar power or fuel, they cooked on fires.
He came to Canada after so many of his family members were killed in various raids on their villages. If Rubad had made this video, I imagine it would have been very similar and it would be the truth.
Now, is Rubad disqualified based on your narrow view of "Iranian" or "Persian"? If his accent is not typical English of a Persian speaker, then he must be Pakistani? If the "portrayal" you are seeking does not fit your vision, then we all jump on someone for the "bad impression" it leaves?
You can choose to shoot the messanger here, be that the guy who made the video or myself for playing the devil's advocate. But before you do, I suggest you look inside to find out where this hatred of anyone that is not from North Tehran is coming from.
