"Ahmadinejad was pre-selected" ?

Don't make me laugh. Why is it none of you toole-sag's who claim Ahmadinejad was "pre selected", couldn't predict that he was going to win before the actual election? Hindsight is 20/20, and you are all full of shit! You brag about having some inside knowledge to your American friends, but you just do a lot of "khali bandi".

None of you who claim to understand Iran, nobody predicted he was going to win. Not Jr. Aghazadeh up there, not any of the "opposition" groups, not Michael Ledeen who claimed "only 4% of Iranians voted." Nobody!

All of you were saying "Larijani is Khamenei's favorite but Rafsanjani will steal the election" What happened geniuses? Only one thing became clear: you are full of shit. The Boycott which succeeded in making a total of 6% of voters stay home, helped Ahmadinejad win a close first round.

I wrote about this back than, but all of you were on your high horses, trying to determine the future of real Iranians who have to suffer the consequences. The only thing you achieved was to bring in Ahmadinejad. This doesn't work out bad at all for Monarchists, they got very close to the armed invasion they truly wanted. But not quite.

Now, go ahead and boycott again. This time no one will listen to you.

Why vote

That's a very interesting question, why vote for
oppressors. There are two reasons, 1-There is always a little better, for example Khatami was better than Ahmadinejad, but a more important issue is that when voting people are participants. Whoever is in carge feels some responsibility. Its like sitting and arguing or getting ready for battle. There is no point in not voting, its like all those Palestinians who boycotted Israel and now are living in camps. OO

Why not criticize Khamenei

First of all, I would be the last person who says
you can't like this idiot, but you should realize that I think of this guy worst than his father. His father had an excuse for being coward and idiot, this guy's problem is that he was born with a silver spoon in his ass.

But you raised a valid question about why not khamenei, Khamenei's position is like Shah's, they rule by force and fear, you only question the person you are going to follow (or in this case not vote). In fact thats a great point let's say 2 years ago when a successful boycott was done Ahmadinejad got to power, are Iranians better off? The current election in the USA will end up with 2 non ideal persons. Boycott is not an answer. Only LA soosools will cry and take the ball home.

Why is he doing it?

He likes to hear his own voice, feel he is some body. His wife works for living but he is only job is going and talking to LA soosools. Lets compare him with Khomeini, Khomeini actively planned with Shah's opposition, he actively campaigned with all the news media and American institutions. Now this VA soosool has money (Khmomeini did not), has many many opposition in Iran, but he likes the confines of LA and VA and soosools, while his (gorgeous) wife works. Some Of You Are So Blind........

There are many people, including myself, who not only believe, but KNOW that the elections in Iran are a joke, and not a very good one at that.

Only "approved" candidates may run, which is a complete contradiction of the electoral process to begin with. But that's typical Iranian bullshit in action. The same Irani-baazi that has kept Iran in a hole that gets deeper by the minute.

These elections SHOULD be boycotted. It is a colossal waste of time, as it has already been pre-determined who will be in what position. When Khak-menei has the final word on all matters, which by the way is the definition of a dictatorship, anything under the guise of electoral process is meaningless.

The problem with some of you is that Reza Pahlavi is saying the same thing.

Nobody is listening

Let's for once listen to what the guy says. I'm convinced 90% of people who post comments on contentious topics like this on this site never read the text or listen to the clip; Left, Right or Centre. I'm no fan of Pahlavis but stick to what the guy says. The video though is atrocious. it's trying to be militant but only looks and sounds like some cheesy Tehrangeles production. The call for boycott may have some validity regardless of who is issuing it. How do you deal with an election that has put you in a hole to begin with. A low turn out may be the best response to the virtually one-party system the extremists and Mr. Khamenei are trying to create. But then an indifferent electorate may be interpreted as a content electorate. This is true in any country regardless of its system, even in USA where the chance for an independent running for any office higher than a councilman is practically zero. Perhaps the best option is to go and put "VOID" on the ballot. By the way, why is Pahlavi calling this a Soviet style or Latin American style election? Was his father's elections any better than this? Was Iran's Majles not a rubber stamp parliament under his father? Has this guy ever done an honest analysis of his father's era? Was democracy not good for Iran back then and now is good? I'd be honestly interested if someone can guide me to any of his writings or speeches regarding this.
