Students of Iran how dare you protesting and demonstrating
by Anonymous15 (not verified) on Wed Dec 17, 2008 09:54 PM PSTyou just shut up and say nothing and do nothing. You participate in demonstrations to have fun as Abarmard would say.
Work hard and when you get your degrees and you see you can’t find jobs and can’t afford housing just leave the country like Mehdi, Abarmard and the bro guy and the rest did. You are the traitors and agents of the West, shame on you.
For those of you who can’t afford to leave the country just pray your parents live for very long time so you have a place to live. Rents are very high, not just in Tehran, but all over the country.
Oil At $38 Per Barrel And Plummeting!
by Killjoy (not verified) on Wed Dec 17, 2008 09:33 PM PSTEven the 2.2 million barrel per day cut in oil production suggested by the OPEC countries has not been able to stop the plunge in oil prices.
With petro dollars getting scarce day by day, rampant unemployment, and rising inflation the regime will pretty soon find itself having to deal with the majority of the Iranian population and not college students alone.
Also, with the budget deficit in billions of dollars and not enough money to go around, the mullaahs and their lackeys will be accusing each other for causing the economic disaters.
Veraaj!
by Appalled (not verified) on Wed Dec 17, 2008 08:49 PM PSTOne thing we Iranians are good at is" VERAAJI". This " Danesh-Joo" like 99% of Iranians are all talk and no action. He should shut his pie hole, move out of mommy's house and get a real job. Oh, I forgot.......there are no jobs in that stupid country. That's why so many resort to " VERAAJI"!
Dear MRX1,
by Killjoy (not verified) on Wed Dec 17, 2008 06:48 PM PSTI'm not so sure about "carpet bombing" of any Iranian city, but as you have correctly expressed, the mullaahs haven't been able to brainwash enough Iranians to let them enjoy their treasonous lives.
Almost three decades ago when the regime decided to close down the universities as part of the so-called "Cultural Revolution," the head of Tabriz university said he could not keep thirteen thousand students out for only a handful of "Islamic" ones who supported the mullaahs.
During the past thirty years the regime has done everything in its power to suppress Iranins, but as the speaker on this clip said, pro-regime students are very few and are usually backed up by hooligans bussed in from different parts of the city.
These brave students' peacefu protests seem to be unwelcomed by the supporters of the regime, calling them "agents" of foreign powers. At least during Shah's time they were decent enough not to call everyone agents and would instead call them "Kharaabkar." A very neutral term, by some accounts.
By the way, Qum as a major producer of fine Persian silk carpets is already bombarded by them. Some are going for tens of thousands of dollars a piece, nowadays. I personally enjoy finer Isfahani rugs better. Having one or two fine silk wouldn't hurt, at all.
Iran's best and brightest are the hope of that nation
by Mehdi on Wed Dec 17, 2008 06:19 PM PSTI hope they are smarter than becoming revolutionaries and vote for violence. Violence is only acceptable in extreme case of self defense or the defense of others. There is no such situation currently in Iran, if there ever was. Those who engage the system antagonistically all have ulterior motives - they are not sincere and their intention is not improvement or help. Today there is more than enough freedom available in Iran to do positive work. And many, many Iranians are doing just that - instead of coming up with excuses and exaggerating situations. We all know things could improve. heck things could improve anywhere, not just in Iran. Let's not forget the president of the most democratic country in the world who is today the laughing stock of the whole world. So if we want to concentrate on negativity only, we have a lot of excuses available. But I say students should study and should invent new ways to help their people. Starting a quasi-revolutionary movement with absolutely no planning or design or clear goal or purpose, except to possibly support some guy who is Kurdish or something and has a history of being nothing but a revolutionary (should I say shit disturber?) is NOT why the country provided these students with resources. That is treason.
I got caught once in one of those rock-throwing insanities during 1979 in a university. This was students fighting "the dictator." I think they all regret it today. But back then it seemed so necessary. How easy we justify our own laziness and lack of ability. If those days they had tried to give Shah a hand, instead of treasonously fighting him, things would have been by far better today. The same situation exists today. There is no valid reason to start violence and disruptions.
Mehdi jaan, I agree with you
by Ali Sefati (not verified) on Wed Dec 17, 2008 05:52 PM PSTI am so over this student thing! I am so over protests in general. They don't work! They have had this type of protests many times and IRI still standing. Even here in US, there has many many anti war protests but US is still a war mongering country and will continue its wars and its policy of war.
If Iranians and students want to change things in Iran, they need to organize, and fight the system through civil manners and through the system.
And yes who knows what kind of hands are behind this! CIA? Mossad? English Intelligence? All of above?
If they were smart they would not waste their money they would know that protests like this don't work!

Guidance
by Jahanshah Javid on Wed Dec 17, 2008 10:06 AM PSTMehdi Khan, wake up. These students are Iran's best and brightest. They don't need any guidance from the Americans, Israelis, Reza Pahlavi, Rajavi or Khamenei (ghorboonesh beram elahi). This is the natural, human reaction to religious fanaticism and oppression. No government in history has been able to mistreat its people and shut them up at the same time.

by LiVe From Tehran (not verified) on Wed Dec 17, 2008 10:02 AM PSTwell, basically what you're saying is that if someone in iran including students demonstrate and express their frustration of human right abuse by their own government and not to mention the government incompetency to run the country are doing treasonous act. right? in this case if an American use his/ her right of freedom of expression or in any civilized society that person is traitorous?
if so, you are a unique brain-dead/washed individual...stop blaming the world for your own stupidity..
Sho'aar
by Abarmard on Wed Dec 17, 2008 09:45 AM PSTThat's what we have learned well in our recent history. The "movements" that have no platform but the word "freedom"!
Good luck.

Treasonous Acts
by Mehdi on Wed Dec 17, 2008 09:15 AM PSTThose who have been given an education by the country should not then act as treasonous members of he society. These lost souls should not attack their government when there is no real reason for it. If they have a problem they should resolve it in a civil manner and not through communist inspired activity (revolution/violence/calls for violence and revolution). These people need spiritual guidance - they are clearly lost. Their calls for "freedom" and such undefined terms clearly shows that they are in terrible need of direction. Of course, Mosad, CIA, KGB (whatever it is called today) are, as usual very active in Iran, and more than happy to "guide them" in the right direction.
it's great
by MRX1 (not verified) on Wed Dec 17, 2008 08:52 AM PSTIt's great to see thirty years of relentless brainwashing by IRI hasn't worked on your youth.
However we need real solution. Carpet bombing of a place like Ghom would do much more to liberate Iran than tens of thousends of protests here and there. you have got to fight the disease from it's source.

by LiVe From Tehran (not verified) on Tue Dec 16, 2008 09:52 PM PSTYou sound like Ehsan one of those brainwashes iranian guy who blame Israel, America, or british for every problem we have in iran.
If so, take a moment and think about Mullah and authorities incompetency.
BTW..change your name. we have lots of beautiful persian names

Courageous Young Men And Women!
by Killjoy (not verified) on Tue Dec 16, 2008 09:36 PM PSTThank you, Mr. Kadivar, for sharing this video clip with us.
It's heartening to see that young Iranian men and women are so dedicated in their fight against the tyrannical regime of the reactionary mullaahs and their goons!
University students in Iran
by Hasan (not verified) on Tue Dec 16, 2008 08:15 PM PSTThese guys need the American police and the American university security system. These are the guys who in a few years after completion of their studies, they become blood sucking bastereds. Look who are the guys who are exploiting the workers today, they are all the university students of a yesterday.
Islamic Government needs to bring some of the American policies and policing system into the Iranian universities.
Nice Kadivar
