by Anonymous500 (not verified) on Mon Dec 15, 2008 06:17 AM PSTI know what you mean "Chaleh-Meydooni"; among civilized people it is called transference: Instead of condemning this regime in Iran, you are braking at the biggest victim of this criminal regime! This barking is dated, Hajagaha!! Put a suck on it and smoke it. Your "smarti-pant" questions, adime a dozen, have been answered long time agao.

ghalam-doon, you're so oblivious it's pitiful
by DanKasra (not verified) on Sun Dec 14, 2008 07:50 PM PSTYou are so clueless it's not even funny. Last year when Ahmadinejad gave a speech at Tehran University, on the heels of his visit to Columbia, only his most fervent supporters were let inside the auditorium; the remaining students were locked out of university quarters, holding banners reading, "Why just Columbia? We have questions too."
The fact of the matter is no one can publicly question the Iranian regime. Forget publicly... if you raise questions about them in your personal blog and they find you, they lock you up and torture you in the infamous Evin prison. There was an interview with a student activist who suffered from this very fate on this very website last year.
The Iranian people are subjected to an incredible amount despotic cruelty. Maybe you missed the video with the young girl being beaten in the streets of Tehran a few weeks ago for showing a little bit of hair under her scarf. And you're comparing Iranian students with American students?
As an American student I CAN question my authorities and not fear for my life. The same doesn't hold true in Iran. And for someone like this student to rise above his fears and speak the sentiment shared by thousands of others too fearful is not rude, it's heroic.
ridiculous expectations from this student...
by Fair on Sun Dec 14, 2008 07:41 PM PSTStudents are arrested and tortured and raped in Iran for merely opposing the concept of a lifelong unelected leader- and that is assuming a person with such beliefs was let into the university to begin with! And you want this student to just be polite and calm and composed?
This comparison of what would happen to such a student in the US is ludicrous. If the students and population of the US had to go through what we did in the last 30 years, they would be doing much more than yelling, and much earlier. In fact, before this guy had a chance to yell, the mullah would have been booed off stage and lynched.
Yes, the student should be polite- as long as there is rule of law and order and people have the final say in their government. Otherwise, all bets are off.

This is the begining
by Faramarz_Fateh on Sun Dec 14, 2008 08:19 AM PSTThis is the begining of the end for Ahmadinejad. With oil at these levels, the economy WILL collapse soon; some time between April and October of this year.
The reason these students are shouting is due to the fact we Iranians learn to raise our voices to get out point across. Democracy, as we know it in the West is 20-30 years away for Iran.
Until Iran does the following, it will remain the shit hole it is:
1) Complete equality for ALL Iranians; especially for #1 women and #2 for ALL religous minorities and ALL ethnic minoritie.
2) Complete religous and political freedom for ALL Iranians.
3) Separation of religion and state
4) Removal of Islam as official religion of state (Iran must become a fully secular)
Another example of over sensetive shouting
by Toofantheoncesogreat (not verified) on Sun Dec 14, 2008 06:56 AM PSTHe has good points, in fact, his opposition have none. But why do we scream, chant, and act like animals in the political arena?
I so dream of a Republic were religious, on religious, right and left aligned parties sit and have discussions without shouting marg bar nanat, and let the people decide, at the same time respecting each other and agreeing to the fact that they want to lead the country into wealth and power, instead of looking after their own political butts.
Btw, the sad part about these demonstrations is that it gives political validity to Khamenis rule, my point with that is that here, they bash Larijani and Ahmadinejad and so on, but if a single word about Khameni or the clerical guardian council would have been mentioned, riot police would have filled the scene instantly, and student leaders might maybe have been shot on sight, or later in jails.

Brave Student?
by ghalam-doon on Sun Dec 14, 2008 05:29 AM PSTMore like "Rude Student."
He could say the same things without shouting at the speaker and being so disrespectful.
Just imagine what could have happened in an American university if someone was so rude? Most likely the audience would have booed him off the stage.
But instead, the audience here applaud him! And make so much noise that the speaker cannot even finish his sentences.
And this is not the 1st time I see such an unruly audience. Remeber the students who burned Ahmadinejad's pictures?
We want democracy? Fine. But our students don't know how to behave themselves or try to repect other's point of view.
And this in one of our better universities?
The economic expert/Mullah should have
by Salar (not verified) on Sun Dec 14, 2008 02:48 AM PSTanswered the student’s criticism with the truth that according to Imam Khomeni (rah be gor), our beloved late leader of islamic reviolution, "Economics is for Donkey". Therefore; IRI has been closely following this advanced doctrine of the late blood thirsty Imam and this is the result of mullahs ruling for 30 years.
Pretty soon the oil at $20 a Barrel will accustom IRI thugs including their sayyad ali geda to getting the boot in behind by Iranian people. The day of IRI reckoning with Iranian nation is nearing. It’ll be some glorious days to come for Iranians, very soon.
