and the people we should be ashamed are:

Embarrassing!
by No Comment on Fri Feb 08, 2008 02:13 PM PSTThis is so embarrassing. The problem with those so-called reporters at voa is that they claim to be an expert in everything and this is a perfect example. It’s a shame that he doesn’t have the integrity to just stick to things that he is good at, like hosting the show in Persian! I’m truly embarrassed for him, not because he can’t speak English but because he can’t admit to it, and he is actually trying to show off his horrible English. He clearly suffers form way too much confidence.

by Shazdeh Mullah (not verified) on Fri Feb 08, 2008 12:05 PM PSTWhat you all are missing here is the secret code message sent to US Navy boats in Persian Gulf. “Demzvel” is the continuation of Operation AJAX refunded by the Bush Administration in order to liberate Iran. VOA is no joke and Kangarloo’s a pretty important guy by "hemzvel."

by Anonymoussssssssssssssss (not verified) on Fri Feb 08, 2008 11:40 AM PST"His job is to relay the news in Farsi, which he does Par Excellence!! So what if his English is not up to speed?"
You made a mistake in your sentence above, the language that you wrote in is not called "English" anymore, now it has multiple different and unfamiliar new names (though they are all the same language), and they are collectively known as ignorance is bless.
We are done.
by Irooni3 (not verified) on Fri Feb 08, 2008 11:31 AM PSTThe damage this guy has caused to Persian society in USA or may be the whole word is beyond repair. Not even the IRI has humiliated us as much as this guy did. He should be deported to Iran. He should be put on trial for devastating the reputation of a country and a nation.
100% Genius
by George W. (not verified) on Fri Feb 08, 2008 10:49 AM PSTHe is a genius! Kangarloo is the copy editor for all translators working at VOA’s “Khabarha Va Nazarha” news program. Bush is also his idol … though Kangarloo’s English is slightly better. These standup comic, monarchist, republicans are supposed to bring Democracy to Iran? Iran is either being punk’d by Ashton Kutcher or the United States Congress! The Islamic Revolution did these guys all a huge favor. Where on earth would bunch of illiterate people become in charge of a big budget propaganda “news” agency? No wonder Abbas Fakhravar is dying to become an added “journalist” at VOA … he fits right in.
Leave the guy alone!! His
by Shirin_s (not verified) on Fri Feb 08, 2008 09:34 AM PSTLeave the guy alone!! His job is to relay the news in Farsi, which he does Par Excellence!! So what if his English is not up to speed? It's not his first language, and he did an adequate job. Have you all been to events where international journalists try to ask questions in English?? I've heard accents 10 times worse, it's no reflection on the journalists intelligence, professionalism or their fellow countrymen. Take a moment to chill people.. and don't make fun of people's accents, this could be your relative, an uncle, a cousin a grandparent, it's disrespectful &vindictive and there is absolutely no reason for it. Best wishes:)

Don't cast the first stone
by Jesus (not verified) on Thu Feb 07, 2008 07:29 PM PST“Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.”
First, you might want to ask yourself how long you have been living outside of Iran, before asking others. You have three mistakes with your English.
is been living = has been living
out side = outside
they claimed he is fluent= they claimed that he was fluent
If you can’t write the language, then keep practicing.
It will get easier..
by nice (not verified) on Thu Feb 07, 2008 07:29 PM PSTPlease don’t be discouraged with negative commands! You are trying hard to make your points; it will get easier as time will pass... :)
I am puzzeled
by Anonymousy (not verified) on Thu Feb 07, 2008 07:04 PM PSTHow long this guy is been living out side of Iran?
What is this? My God, I am stunned and embarrassed. I just can't get over it. I bet when he was in Iran, they claimed he is fluent in several foreign languages. If you can't speak the language, then don't talk.
