Not my kind of music
by Iraniandudeee on Sat Sep 12, 2009 03:42 PM PDTNot my kind of music, but good try.
Ghormeh Sabzi this is so beautiful
by ramintork on Sat Sep 12, 2009 09:37 AM PDTYou really have a unique taste. This is so beautiful. Two superb voices of Soul/Gospel/blues of Sam McClain and traditional Iranian angelic voice of Mahsa Vahdat joining together. What a treat. Thanks. I think they could make a beautiful film soundtrack together.
The result is strange at first but musically wonderful.
The trick for the Iranian audience would be to lose their familiarity with the language for a moment and simply enjoy the soft melody of Mahsa and her music.
Strange combinations sometimes work so well, just consider the sound track of the film Gladiator with Hans Zimmer's Holst and Wagnarian style mixing with the softness of Lisa Gerrard's language of her invention (sometimes language is a barrier to music).
Music supercedes language and I think this could be a great opening for Mahsa Vahdat.
Why does she need him? They cannot reach the American audience!
by gol-dust on Sat Sep 12, 2009 09:23 PM PDTShe has a gorgeous voice. If she wants to reach out to the iranians, she could do great. Americans don't get this! They don't go together! But, I give her an A for trying something unique.
What a Big Mish-Mash
by aaminian on Fri Sep 11, 2009 02:50 PM PDTI am sorry but these two's tunes are way out of synch! Individually, they may be "OK" but together they definitely are NOT! Listening to it for 15 seconds made me wanna clear my ear drums with a fire-fighters' water-hose!
Beautiful Music
