Veiled Prophet of Khorasan

Farhad

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on

Much of Farhad music is out on CD. iTunes has several of the albums for download. The only one I have not found is "Khaste Am". I have a really old version recorded on tape from 30 years ago. If anyone knows where to get a good version please post it.

Last time I saw Farhad's live performance was month or two before coming to US in a restaurant called Sardab, on Kalej Street.

Dear Khar and doostaan,

by Monda on

the clip you just posted which I saw only half of, put me in this very personal space... it's the best combination of artists, imaginable.  Thanks so much.  I will play and replay it tonight when I can afford to be drawn into such feelings.

Yara va benross jan, glad we're on the same boat with this brilliant man's presence in our lives.

Thank you Yara. Greatly

Thank you Yara. Greatly appreciated.

Yes Monda I know the feeling. I also learned the news few months ago. It was quite shocking to me. But maybe that was a better way to learn the news. After all, who can speak of 'dying' about Farhad? it just can't happen.

Farhad Mehrad

by Yara on

From://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farhad_Mehrad

Farhad Mehrad, (January 20, 1944 – August 31, 2002) widely known in Iran as Farhad was an award winning Persian legendary Rock singer, songwriter, guitarist, pianist and icon. He rose to prominence among Iranian Rock and Folk musicians before the Iranian Revolution, but after the revolution he was banned from singing for several years. His first concert after the Iranian revolution was held in 1993. To this day he is considered one of the most influential, revolutionary, gifted and respected Iranian artists of all time.

What?! Where have I been?!

by Monda on

benross jan, Farhad's voice had a strong place on and off throughout my life in Iran... here's my chance to grieve his loss too.  I appreciate you letting me know.  I heard him on couple of threads on I think moshaaereh blogs, but never thought of asking where or how he was.

I guess JJ or Foaad would be the ones who could embed Farhad's clips.

He is no longer with us. I'd appreciate if someone could embed the following links. He deserves that much.
