Thank you once again for taking the time to explain and for the  dozari (penny) to drop! ;)

i believe most of kiosk's video collaborations are with ahmad kiarostami, the son of the director of "a taste of cherry."  otherwise, in the u.s., for some media, you can use very short clips (i'm not sure how many seconds) without getting copyright permission.

I don't understand. Why is there no copyright infringement if it's from "a Taste of Cherry"?

In general anyway, I do wonder why so many of the "Iranian" videos, basically steal other people's work and then call it "collage". Sometimes it's not only appropriate but imperative in the context, but most of the time it really isn't. Can't they make their own videos?

"taste of cherry" is one of my favorite iranian movies. thanks for the correction. i see now how there's no copyright infringement in creating the video.

i like almost anything this band puts out including this song.  i like to know more about the video.  whether permission was gotten from mehrjooi (was he the director of ta'me gilas?) to use such a long clip from his movie.  was the man's mission to accomplish his death wish a metaphor for the feeling of helplessness and misery in iran?  ay ay, that's what i want to know.
