So is Sattar.........
by Souri on Thu Sep 09, 2010 09:53 AM PDTSattar has one of those rare voices which can seem very sad or very joyful depending on the rhythm and the lyric of a song.
I believe Omid's voice has also a very happy tone for the "gherical"music.
Nevertheless, this video is not my type!
And J's argumentation not valid (again!).
Dancers and Singers
by Doctor X on Thu Sep 09, 2010 09:35 AM PDTMoein is the one singer who can make you cry and then shake like there is no tomorrow!!
Kaftare kakol be sar vay vayy....
Shahe dokhtaroon....
In the sineh zani category we have (the nominees are)
Delam mikhad be esfehan bargardam. ..
Speaking of sineh zani anyone remembers that part from Shahre ghesseh where the Roobah says: bezanid be seenahataan... Ayyy gorboneh on sinehataaan. :)))
Let's ask an expert
by Jahanshah Javid on Thu Sep 09, 2010 02:04 AM PDTI bet this guy can teach us a few things about great Iranian dance music :D

What?
by Azarin Sadegh on Thu Sep 09, 2010 01:57 AM PDTAre you serious, JJ?
Then THEY are the silly ones... You're not silly!
I haven 't heard one single "gheri" song with any kind of "good" lyrics....Sometimes the lyrics are so sad but who cares? We still jump up and down and shake every shakable body part... while the singer keeps "beshkaning", complaining about the loss of the love of his life..:-)
Show me
by Jahanshah Javid on Thu Sep 09, 2010 01:41 AM PDTAzarin, I'm not being silly at all.
Some people seem to think that there are Iranian dance songs out there whose singers have a voice that put angels to shame and lyrics that are divine inspirations.
Koo? Show me.
(tapping my fingers)
PS: I love the song you're talking about Azarin :)
haha...JJ! You're being silly now..:-)
by Azarin Sadegh on Thu Sep 09, 2010 01:31 AM PDTThank you, dear Google!
Voila the lyrics of Kamran and Hooman's song that I found..and I remembered that a few ears ago I saw them somewhere in a mall near my house and they looked exactly like their cd covers...:-)
To khodet nomreye bisti

Azarin baayad beraghsseh!
by Jahanshah Javid on Thu Sep 09, 2010 01:21 AM PDTThanks Azarin! I'm glad someone came up with an Iranian dance song they like!
Now, can you give me some lines from the lyrics? I want to compare it with the lyrics on the song above and see how deep and meaningful they must be :)
I think people forget what kind of Iranian music they dance to. The lyrics on these songs (even the best of the best) are not exactly from Hafez and Shamloo!
To khodet nomreh bisti..lalala lalalalalaaaaa
by Azarin Sadegh on Thu Sep 09, 2010 01:08 AM PDTJJ jan,
Each time I am invited to any Iranian party where people dance floor, I hear this song.... and as i can't resist the urge of jumping on the dancing floor and as I move my arms and hands and hips and etc...with badbakhti, at some point, I feel so proud of myself, remembering that even if I don't look like a "nomreh 20" now, but when I was young, all my "nomrehs" at school were 20... :-)) And then I look around me and believe me, I can feel that all my middle aged friends near me look dreamy too...:-)
On the other hand, all the cute young girls dance as if they've been the object of the singer's affetion!! It is always pretty funny to watch!
Did I answer your question?
Come on... don't be shy
by Jahanshah Javid on Thu Sep 09, 2010 12:39 AM PDTArthimis, so there's not even one Iranian dance song you can think of or dig up on YouTube?
Do you not go to parties? Do you not have parties at your house? What do you play for your guests to make them dance?
Come on... don't be shy.
I rarely agree with
by Arthimis on Thu Sep 09, 2010 12:23 AM PDTI rarely agree with Abarmard on Iran's political subjects, but on this single occasion, I agree with him 100% ! (hope we can reach more agreements in future...) :-)
Meanwhile, no disrespect to these artists here on this clip personally! Honestly wish them all the best and hope they can come up with something of a lot more quality on any/every level of music, "Dance" music included...
PS. There are many great examples of great bands and "dance" music... In fact, we even have seen them here on iranian.com before... Needless to compare any in specific as everyone is entitled to their own opinion, choice and taste in art and in this case music!
Respect and Peace
Do you dance?
by Jahanshah Javid on Wed Sep 08, 2010 11:50 PM PDTI enjoyed it. This is simple dance music. It does not pretend to be anything but fun. Nothing more nothing less.
Unfortunately not all of us can dance to Shajarian and Shahram Nazeri.
I wonder if those who really don't like this video just don't like Iranian dance music or even dancing. If they do like to dance, I'm curious to know their favorite Iranian dance songs. I'm sure they are works of high art.
with all do respect to you dear GS
by Narsis on Wed Sep 08, 2010 11:27 PM PDTI agree with Abarmard
What's there to like? (of course nothing personal, just a bit confused)
Regards
I want to like it!
by Abarmard on Wed Sep 08, 2010 06:45 AM PDTLyrics? Music? Dance? Video? originality? passion? voice? look?
What am I suppose to like? ;)
Cool Song!
