She is not breaking any "taboo"! Where? when?! what taboo?!
by Esfand Aashena on Mon Mar 21, 2011 05:41 AM PDTThe Iranian porn actors, say Aylar for example, has broken more "taboos" than this moaning sounds. Aylar lived under Islamic Republic as well so she has risked more than her knowing how looney the hezbollahis can be.
The fact of the matter is there really isn't any taboo in the Iranian society. We have everything! Even under the Islamic Republic! The only thing left to do is to get rid of this regime.
Taboo, maboo!
Everything is sacred

by afyoun on Sun Mar 20, 2011 02:59 PM PDTWe have been Iranians long before your culture hit Iran like a plague. So please don't bother telling us how should we be practicing our culture. Defining two different values on genders is your issue not ours. Our view is much older yet more progressive than the childish stories you believe in.
You must be lucky enough being granted the right posting your opinions on this website - as much as the rest of us. My posts and lots of others' get regularly deleted or flagged here, but we don't nag. If you need a forum which only covers your sort of delusions, then why don't you start building your own website?
On the other hand, the only thing that your likes hasn't been censoring
in Iran, is the Air. Here, we are the majority, and if necessary we
give you a little taste of your own culture.
But if you keep flagging whatever you come across on the web, then it means, 'game on'.
Btw, the video got back online in a jiff. If necessary, I arrange for dedicated webservers and mirrors.
Also, I'm proud of her as much as I'm proud of my mom, sis and Namoos(in your lanuage). They are entitled to their ways of thinking and living. It is their body and mind.
I will say this about Melica
by Simorgh5555 on Sun Mar 20, 2011 02:53 PM PDTMelica is beautiful but I question whether she is singing this song to express her sexuality or to be deliberately provocative? It may be both. I wish her every success - as I do with all talented Iranians- but people will want to move on from songs about sex if she wants to be taken seriously as a singer or develop as an artist.
I do not want to draw parallels between her and Roxana Shirazi but there is a similar situation here. Shirazi dedicated a whole 'career' - if you can call it that- from reclaiming the word 'slut' and talking about her sexual exploits with Indie bands you never even heard of but the question remains so what? Are you going to move on from flashing your breasts and talking about how you love to be penetrated by three men simultaneously or don't you have anything more to say?
If and when Iran gives the current terrorist regime the boot and hopefully to be replaced by a secular democracy you can expect a lot of Melicas and people wanting to be open about their sexulaity and breaking every taboo in the book. This is what happened in Russia and Spain after Franco. Unpalatable though this phase will be it will test how tolerant a society we will come. Will we become tolerant and accpeting of things we do not like or will we get offended and want censorship? The reaction of the Iranian people will be very interesting.
Melica may have real balls

by comments on Sun Mar 20, 2011 01:50 PM PDTI used to live in a city with limited numbers of Iranians.
Your comment reminded me an Iranian old man (75-80 years) with a strange accent who saw me once with my 65 year-old mother. I saluted and he replied very politely. After that whenever I saw that man he said to me: “salam, madaret chetora?”. That’s all he said. It happened many more times with exactly the same words and conversation:) At the beginning, I laughed in my heart, but it became annoying later. I couldn’t say anything because he was such a wonderful man.
I have to get dressed. I am so fussy with new clothing at New Year. It's so unfortunate, othewise:)

Let's stone her
by Jahanshah Javid on Sun Mar 20, 2011 12:19 PM PDTAn Iranian woman singing about sex and wanting to "give it" to her man is one of the biggest taboos there is. When you can be killed and stoned for singing this stuff, that's a taboo. And worth breaking. Even if you can't sing!
Did you smile or cry at that scene?
by comments on Sun Mar 20, 2011 12:07 PM PDTI know that we have thought to be "najib" and "keep our bird in the cage" since we were born. But, this is not always the case. Sometimes you have to act like Samantha in a scene at “Sex and the City 2”. Her bag was suddenly dropped in a crowd and all Arab men stared at her. What did she say? Sometimes you have to remember that Samantha's response whether you are a male or female.
That response made me smile, smile and smile for days. Did you smile or cry at that scene?
That scene reminder is my New Year eidi to those who smile.
Please.
by comments on Sun Mar 20, 2011 11:53 AM PDTThe art is to believe on what you have done in your life usually when you were young and single. If you only enjoyed a single kiss it means that you were pationate, appreciative and aware of your feeling and your needs. It doesn't make you a whole or a looser.
If you want to hear your heart, listen to your mouth. It can easily be seen that some hearts are so dark and some are bright like a sunshine. The minimum lesson that I have learned from this website is from those who dare to identify themselves, express their belief and make a net-work a real-word.
Being a whore or in a different level, prostitution, is a different world. If you want more awareness about what is going on that side of the fence you should listen to news atleast this one:

Ostad JJ, we aren't shocked by the Lady Melica's yek vajab
by Everybody Loves Somebody ... on Sun Mar 20, 2011 11:33 AM PDTunder naaff lyrics. We are simply wondering if she is a he or a she!?
Some people have cut and pasted text form her website. But that's not an irrefutable proof that she is a he or a she specially in the face of her controversial marriage which lasted only 3 months and resulted in a new born daughter! Last time, I was engaged in a baby making process it took about 9 months! Her case is simply conspicuous if you are asking me!
