Mosleh Zamani is a young man who has served six years in prison after he was arrested at age 17 for “illegitimate relations” with his girlfriend. The couple had gone out of town on a day trip and had had sex. He was tried and sentenced to death. The sentence was upheld after he appealed it two years ago. There were massive protests outside the courthouse in Sanandaj, objecting to the severity of this punishment, and the courts suspended the execution. His girlfriend has written to the courts several times, announcing that she has never wished to file criminal charges against him, admitting to concensual sex, and still the judge has advised her and Mosleh’s family that he will be executed to make a good example of him so that other young people would not attemtp the same conduct. This young man’s life is in serious danger. Please sign this petition and disseminate information about him. He has been moved to Kermanshah’s Dizel Abad Prison and is set to be executed on Thursday morning.
