| November 26, 2002 Stop life for death  A flyer signed "Youth of Rasoolollah Mosque" handed out to passersby in Isfahan during the last Noruz New Year holidays (March 2002). It encourages people to abstain from all New Year festivities because Noruz (on the Iranian Calendar) and the anniversary of Imam Hossein's martyrdom (on the Islamic lunar calendar) happened to coincide this year. It notes that Muslims should learn from Christian Iranians who postponed New Year 2000 festivities for a week because it coincided with a Muslim day of mourning. Sent by A.K.
