From an iranian.com reader: ... Here is a story for you: My partner is working on his PhD in physics at the University of Cincinnati and last week one of his advisors, Dr. FM, had a heart attack and died. He was in his early 60s and was healthy otherwise. Anyway, it came as a shock to every one and his daughter (who does not speak Persian, Dr. FM's wife is American, so they didn't speak Persian at home) wanted to recite some Khayyam poetry at the funeral and they asked my partner if he would be kind enough to recite the poems in Persian. The problem was that they only had the English translation.
So when my partner called me to see if I had any ideas I immediately thought
of The Iranian and after some creative detective work at 2 in
the morning we found what
we were looking for. So, he recited the poems in Persian the next
day and he said that the funeral was a beautiful tribute to FM. So the
moral of the story is that... The Iranian is the best! May is... |
