Persian Haiku

The Iranian
School children
smelling norangi blossoms...
spring morning.
Quiet nightingale!
You've landed on a mosque...
an Imam chanting.
Sprinkling sumac
on the chelo kabob...
the call to prayer.
A cat plunging
into a bowl of vegetables...
gorbeigh sabzi.
