Some artists can say for certain when and why they started their artistic life,
I can't. Longing for creation of art, has always been a part of my life, a big one,
and I honestly don't know when I started my first artistic work.
My love for poetry must have taken me to the endless journey of painting, as poetry
and painting are both rooted in mind and heart. Wallace Stevens writes: "...
Where the poet does his job by virtue of an effort of the mind he is in rapport with
the painter, who does his job with respect to the problems of form and color".
So for me, poetry and painting are sources of our conception of reality and perfection.
Many artists choose to portray themselves, I chose Forough, for she opened my
window to life itself. She didn't show me how to fly nor did she give me the wings,
she just reminded me that I had two wings, and once I realized I had them, I could
fly. That I guess is the reason why she is present in many of my paintings, I owe
it to my wings.
