Iranain-American art scholarship

On behalf of Evolving Perceptions, I am pleased to announce our 2nd Annual Iranian Artist Scholarship for 2002.

Last year, we awarded our first $1000 scholarship to Amir Fallah, a junior college student in Maryland (check out iranian.com and www.irantodayonline.com). The scholarship provided not only monetary but community support that touched Amir. We hope to be able to raise more money this year, in order to provide more emerging artists with $1000 scholarships. I hope you will join us in support.

Several scholarships have been developed for Iranian students studying medicine, engineering, computer and even art history, but NONE have been developed for Iranians and Iranian-Americans pursuing the study of fine arts. This scholarship has been created out of necessity. We need to contribute to the developments and accomplishments of our young and talented Iranian and Iranian-American artists in the United States.

If you are interested in donating to this fund please fill out the donation form at the bottom of this email and send a check made payable to "Evolving Perceptions" to the address at the end of this letter. Any amount will help build this scholarship and encourage our emerging artists.

Evolving Perceptions is an volunteer art organization based in the Washington DC Metropolitan area and was founded in 1996. The organization hosts monthly gatherings, art trips and annual exhibitions.

2nd Annual Iranian Artist Scholarship

$1000 Cash Award

Evolving is proud to announce our second annual scholarship award for Iranian Students studying Fine Arts. Last year, we awarded a $1000 scholarship to Amir Fallah (check out www.irantodayonline.com and iranian.com for more information about Amir Fallah)

Scholarships are awarded according to the panel,s decision. Panelists will be announced a few months prior to the deadline for this scholarship.

Scholarship is open to all Iranian and Iranian-American students, 18-30 years of age, studying and living in the United States

If eligible please submit the following:

~ A current resume

~ 15-20 slides labeled with title, size and medium (video accepted)

~ Articles/reviews about your work or exhibitions

~ An artist statement (500-1000 words about you and your work)

~ SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope)

All Media Welcomed: Painting * photography * sculpture * installation * Ceramics

This award was made possible by generous donations from donors, artists, art appreciators and businesses in order to provide support and encouragement for emerging Iranian artists.
