Darius Kadivar writes:
Daniel Gélin, French actor whose 60-year career spanned theater, television
and movies, died last week of kidney failure at age 81. He has been the only Western
actor to have played the role of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi -- in the Canadian TV
drama: America
Held Hostage: Days of Crisis (1991). He was best known to American audiences
as the mysterious murder victim in Alfred Hitchcock 's THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH
(1956).
