An organizer of the " Glass of the Sultans " exhibition observes bottles
produced in Iran between the 17th and the 19th century, two days before the official
opening of the exhbition at Greece's Benaki museum in Athens February 18, 2002. The
international exhibition presents a selection of about 140 of the most spectacular
objects made of glass during the Islamic period, from the 7th to the 19th century.
Included are products inspired by the late antique tradition, objects represent the
most flourishing period of Islamic art as well as later glass from Persia and India.
