
Pejman Akbarzadeh:
"PERSIAN MUSICIANS" (vol.1) is the title of a book by a very young Persian
researcher named Pejman Akbarzadeh aged 18, with a preface by Ali-Mohammad Rashidi
(director of the Tehran Conservatory), published by Shiraz Navid Publications [ISBN
946-6810-20-9].
According to the Persian language daily "Hayaat-e Now" (No.335, Aug. 1,
2001 Tehran): "... PERSIAN MUSICIANS is the first section of research conducted
by Pejman Akbarzadeh concerning activities, compositions and opinions of several
contemporary Persian composers and conductors. This work contains documental information
and primary sources is an effort to elucidate history of music in Persia...."
And the other Persian daily in Tehran "Nowrouz" wrote: "... according
to A.M. Rashidi: THIS COMPOSERS AND CONDUCTORS WHOSE NAMES ARE MENTIONED IN THIS
BOOK ARE THE MEMBERS OF A GENERATION WHO DESPITE THEIR ACTIVITIES FOR PERSIAN MUSIC
HAD FALLEN INTO DECAY.... This book also contains an introduction to Tehran Conservatory,
Persian National Music Conservatory and Revolutionary Songs Conservatory. Followed
by professional life story of nine Persian conductors; Parviz Mahmoud, Rubik Gregorian,
Heshmat Sanjari, Farhad Meshkat, Farshad Sanjari, Ali Rahbari, Golnoush Khaleghi,
