 S. Soheily writes: Iraniann-American Sanaz Shahbazi, fighting at middleweight, triumphed again by dominating her weight class and defeating Chinese Taipei in the final to win the Gold medal on June 12th at the 7th World Univeristy Championships in Berkley, California! She is well on her way to establishing herself as one of the best female athletes in Taekwondo today. She is currently in training and preparing herself for the World Cup Taekwondo Championships which will take place in Tokyo, Japan in July. Previous to these World Championships, Sanaz won the Gold medal at three prestigious tournaments in 2002: the Korean Open in Korea, Dutch Open in Holland and the US National Championships.
