Photo essay: A soldier in coma

The Iranian
This soldier was 17-years old when he lapsed into a coma
on June 5, 1986 during the Iran-Iraq war. He was struck by a shockwave from an explosion
in Khorramshahr, near the Iraqi border. He has been unconscious ever since. His mother
and father fight to keep him alive.
Omid Salehi, Javad Montazeri and Peyman Hooshmandzadeh are founders
of 135 PHOTOS, a photo agency in Tehran.
