TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran has denied as a ``bad joke'' an Israeli newspaper
report about a proposed deal for the release of 13 Iranian Jews arrested
by Tehran on spying charges, the daily Tehran Times reported Thursday.
The newspaper quoted Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi as saying:
``It's like a bad joke and carries no truth. In general, from our point
of view, the Zionist regime (Israel) lacks legitimacy, we do not officially

WASHINGTON, July 22 (Reuters) - The United States plans to issue long-awaited
rules this week that will allow for the sale of food, medicine and medical
equipment to Iran, Sudan and Libya on a case-by-case basis, a Clinton administration
aide said on Thursday. But some farm sectors that had been hoping to participate

his visit to Saudi Arabia would focus on oil and dismissed reports the
