TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran has denied as a ``bad joke'' an Israeli newspaper report about a proposed deal for the release of 13 Iranian Jews arrested by Tehran on spying charges, the daily Tehran Times reported Thursday. The newspaper quoted Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi as saying: ``It's like a bad joke and carries no truth. * Rules expected on US sales to Iran, Sudan, Libya

WASHINGTON, July 22 (Reuters) - The United States plans to issue long-awaited rules this week that will allow for the sale of food, medicine and medical equipment to Iran, Sudan and Libya on a case-by-case basis, a Clinton administration aide said on Thursday. TEHRAN, July 21 (Reuters) - The Iranian foreign minister said on Wednesday his visit to Saudi Arabia would focus on oil and dismissed reports the talks would centre on a territorial dispute between Iran and the United Arab Emirates. * Iran Students Demand Release Of 1,400 Classmates

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iranian students have demanded the release of more than 1,400 of their classmates they say were arrested by security forces in recent days following pro-democracy demonstrations, newspapers reported Sunday.
