The earliest photograph of the family is of Amir Tuman (The Commander of the Ten Thousand). Amir Tuman's father was a commander of the Qajar army who had died leading Iranian troops against the Russians (led by Ivan Paskevich) in the city of Ganjeh. This was before Iran lost Azarbayjan to the Russians. Amir Tuman was Masoud Barzin's great great grandfather.

Good thing or bad thing?

by Souri on

This all depend on yourself and your own motivation of doing this.

The fact that you are here (or not) 24/7 or how much time you spend watching TV, is none of my business.

What surprises me is that you have spent most of your active life out of Iran, but you are here and give your opinion about almost everything, even on the part of our history which is almost unknown to all of us!
Your business :)

I'm not here 24/7. But I frequently check in. This is really a result of chucking the television set. Without TV, I've found I'm on the internet a heckuva lot more. Not sure yet if this a good thing or a bad thing.

I admire your over-confidence Sargord :)

You are here 24/7 and give your opinion on all and everything!

You talk about Iran's history, like you know things that many of us still ignore!!

Mashallah, Lucky you!!!

The Iranians really lacked

by Sargord Pirouz on

The Iranians really lacked an outstanding military figure during the 19th and mid-20th centuries.

General Sayad ("Mard-e-Foulad") Shirazi gets an honorable mention during the 1980s.

Currently General Jafari appears promising but is untested in a major conflict.
