Mahtab and Luke - Part III
Index

Luke and Mahtab returned to New York. Mahtab went out onto their balcony and she quietly watched the city lights. She noticed the lights turned off from the building across the way. It was a cold night. Something triggered and her emotions were turned on. A thought occurred to her, "Did he fly me to Greece to prepare to break up with me?"

Wow what a thought! The feeling was so real she couldn't ignore it. She went into the apartment and confronted him. Luke was surprised with her state and asked if she was all right. She told Luke that she knew what he was up to and that he should leave. Luke was confused and very upset and tried to talk to Mahtab and ask what was the matter but Mahtab was too emotional to have an effective conversation. Mahtab was crying hysterically and she asked to Luke leave again. This time Luke left.

She couldn't believe what she did. They were just enjoying a beautiful vacation in Greece. It was so romantic. Then some lights in a building turn off and she goes off. Well, Mahtab started cleaning up the house . She was just beside herself. She began putting things away as well as finding things. She wasn't looking for any suspicious item but somehow it seemed as if she was being looked after, something greater was happening.

She found a pager and it was going off, and her instinct just told her to retrieve it - so she did. The text message said, "Baby I love you and miss you - when are you coming home?" Mahtab just cried and cried. She didn't even know that Luke had a pager. She was thinking "What was this? Who is this?"

She felt so betrayed. Now she began looking for things and she found pictures and two cards that were erotic. She called her best friend, who of course had always had doubts about Luke. I say of course, because it seems that our friends and family tend to have an insight into our relationships -- sometimes we realize them but we choose to ignore. Now this isn't true all the time, just most of the time.

Well, Mahtab described the event that led up to all of this and wanted advice about how to confront him when he comes home. Or maybe she should ignore the whole thing.
