When the past was no longer present

When the past was no longer present
When yesterday was a story
Gone.
Put away, in a dusty book,
And all that remained was regret, remorse, and fear of
tomorrow...
He took her hand
And led her to the future...

When the world collapsed
When earth fell apart and oceans dried
He rebuilt the sanctuary
And she survived...

Her sanctuary, in the center of his heart
His future tied to her hand
The past overlooked in haze,
the future waiting beneath them,
Their lives bound with destiny...

...And she was safe, unbroken, and unchained
With him free, fearless and sided with fate.

...Until the wind came
................And took him away...
........He left, and she stayed
........The past was gone again
........The world fell apart, all turned to ash...
........No future remained, but she stayed.
